Iona took a risk because the NCAA hasn't ruled on Pitino yet and due to his and Carey's friendship. There's a good possibility that there will be a show cause penalty. This may not impact Iona, but Pitino's already risky enough for anyone else without having to deal with that. IU had their fill of infractions shenanigans with Kelvin Sampson.

Best-case scenario is Stevens listens, but ultimately says "No thanks." I'd like to see that he has some genuine interest in one day returning to the college game. It'd make me feel better about Kentucky's chances when the time comes.

Hello Marcus Carr. He's officially in the portal.

Stevens is the hottest name out there. I like him and think he could do great at a big time job.

But, he caught a little bit of fire in two great seasons with Butler. I think people forget though that he followed those two years with a CBI appearance and first weekend exit in the NCAAT the next two years. His last three seasons at Butler his record was just 77-34.

I'd be shocked if he didn't go the pro route. But, if he doesn't Cal needs to go after him. Can't really shoot from three and his FG% is ugly but he is a big time scorer.
