Good news, alot of social media post have suggested Washington is gone, hope it's just talk.

I get mad at Washington because i don't think he's NBA ready but i do hope he comes back so we can have a SQUAD next year...

Heck I am ready for the speculation to be over. Hope the ones that come back do so at 100% committed to playing at UK and getting better. Ready to get thinking about football season.

A little off topic but Luke Maye is returning to UNC.

I guess the expression is 'bored now'.

No shame in trying out and getting feedback.
The deal of making an announcement at 11:59 pm of the last day smacks of 'lookit me, how do you love me.'

Pretty sure Mr Washington thinks a lot more highly of his abilities than the most fanatical of the fan base.

I don't have as much of a problem with Washington, because you never know when word is going to come in. I doubt we'll hear at 11:59 the way we did Diallo but at this point you might as well run the string out and see what happens.

I even get what Wenyen is doing, though if he made an NBA roster I'd be more stunned than I would be if Kevin Hall made one. At least Wenyen is working out with teams.

But whatever it is that Jarred Vanderbilt is dong baffles me. What is he doing exactly?

It has crossed my mind that Vanderbilt and Washington may not want to play at UK together--same position, minutes may get split between them--and that Vanderbilt is waiting on Washington's decision. If PJ comes back then maybe Vanderbilt goes and spends a year rehabbing or something.

I don't know. Vanderbilt's whole deal is just bizarre. To my knowledge he hasn't even interviewed with teams.

Puzzling has been the description most of Vanderbilts career at UK.

Hey you never know. Three point shooting is back in style and I could probably still shoot it well enough. I would be the oldest rookie ever too.

Notice Will didn't mention me, he knows I can still shoot.

Vanderbilt's health has been a concern since he came to UK (or even when he was in high school). What is his current status? Is he healing, does he need surgery, if surgery is required what is the time needed to recuperate? Will he be ready for this season from day one or will he be sidelined for awhile? Just curious as to other's thoughts on his situation.

Is Vanderbilt destined to have a Sam Bowie career, injury wise? Or the Greg Oden curse?
the problem is, he hasn't really shown a shadow of either of those players ability....or even that potential.

                      I agree....his Kentucky career has been spectacularly.....odd.

As bad as i hate to say it, we need a fall guy(s), maybe Washington, Gabriel, and Vanderbilt are those guys. We actually need a player(s) to leave Kentucky early and absolutely fall flat on there face and fail in the worst way. I would absolutely love nothing more to be sitting here at this time next year talking about Garbriel, Washington, or Vanderbilt working at McDonald's. Doesn't mean life is over or i don't wish anything bad long term for anyone but only as a big REALITY CHECK for some of these kids. This entitlement that i am "NBA" ready out of control at KENTUCKY with no checks and balances. We have players year in and year out who have no business thinking about leaving but in some cases do it anyways, blows my mind..

Listen Cat fans, do yourself a favor and tune in and watch a NBA playoff game. I know many hate it but at least look at it if you want to see what it looks like to be a NBA player. I know many says "i wish them well we love you and thank you for playing at KENTUCKY(BOO WHOOO), we only want what's best for you" but the reality is alot of our kids are drinking WAY TOO MUCH Kool Aide.....

^ Look at it from the kids perception. They have been told from Middle School that they were special, and they are. They believe they have what it takes to be successful Pro players because they're made to believe they have what it takes. We see them from a completely different point. We look at their game under the control of their Coach who has an effect on how they play. Look at a few of NBA 3 point shooters who didn't shoot them in College, but they are very successful now. I would like to see them all three in Blue next year, but I wish them well if I don't.

The careers of former guys like Randolph Morris should be heads up.
Whether I like the NBA game or not is not relevant. Well over 90 per cent of these guys on the teams were at one time considered one of the 60, 70 finest basketball players in the entire world the year they came out....and there is no four year graduate and gone in the NBA.

It's a high risk Gamble to take that next step.

But these so called 60 or so called 70 best players for most part had a good resume and accolades to back up the ranking via college, workouts, etc. We have players who hit a few 3 point shots in a college basketball game and now they think they are NBA pro's, it's unbelievable. If you really want to see one of the best 450 players in the world, watch a NBA game and see it first hand for yourself, see how it's really done against players as good or better than them.....

Two ways to look at it, either i am completely wrong about my own evaluation of some of our guys wanting to go pro or basketball overall on the big stage is just watered down and the players in today's NBA are just really weak?

Reality is that today's NBA players are much more versatile and can do many more things than the older players of back in the day. They can shoot, jump, run for days, chisled like Spartans, bigs play the perimeter and can shoot and handle the ball like guards. The only thing that may have changed is the IQ part of the game, i do think alot of the older players generations back had a better natural feel for the game but then again, analytics and stats are so much more in depth now that players make actually know more now than ever.....

Anyways, we have kids going or thinking pro who just aren't good enough, it's plain to see but most do not want to admit it. If was working for DOS EQUIS i would say "stay thirsty my friends' but since im not, i say keep on keeping on drinking that KOOL AIDE

Well, it's gonna play as it does.
kids are waiting for the last second like Cinderella hoping the clock doesn't strike. Then again, weren't they told a short time ago they were superstars just waiting till their birthday? That Chance for a golden ticket is one bad injury from gone.
and too....one more chance to be recruited....told by a fan base that we will be great if YOU come back.
heady stuff for a guy a few months away from senior prom.
