The voters are going to be swayed by the hype of that recruiting class.

We're just talking about preseason rankings, which is a glorified beauty contest.

I actually think Duke will struggle a bit next season. Barrett will be a Naismith contender though, and when you have one of those it gives you a solid margin for error.

For those unfamiliar, Travis averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds last year for Stanford.

He's a workhorse, under-the-rim type. Doesn't shoot from outside but isn't a terrible foul shooter.

He played four years for Stanford but his sophomore season was cut short due to injury. He will be 23 years old in November.

Jon Rothstein tweets that Travis has officially pulled out of the draft and is a grad transfer.

It looks like our three guys are on the clock. I'm saying word should come down pretty soon.

If we get two of the three back with Travis I don't know if "fun" describes it.

Do you know this for sure or is it a guess? I think Vanderbilt is the most likely of the three to return.

Vanderbilt and Travis i am good. PJ seems determined to go in my opinion but i would welcome back Gabriel with his ability to spread the floor and his long arms on defense. Gabriel reminds me of Aaron Baynes in Boston, wrong place wrong time and always getting posterized because he's one step late lol lol lol....

I think PJ has put himself in position that he now has to go whether he's ready or not. He decided to test the waters and Cal flat out recruited over him. If PJ would have committed to coming back sooner, perhaps Cal would have stayed put. If PJ does indeed return, he will have to battle for minutes and he will not build his stock on stats, it would have to be based on future potential based on how much he can develop and add to this game for the next NBA combine...

19.5 and 8.7 are some real impressive #'s at a very respectable program even if the PAC12 blew chunks last year. He won't get that at UK this year if he's here but PJ or JV won't approach the 19.5 either. Bring him on!

What i like about Reid is he's a MAN, that dude going to bang on you during the game and wear you down.

I have a friend who works security for a high profile gym in New York where are the NBA players come to train. With that being said, many of those players whom he speaks too talk about Lebron and what makes him different but is rarely talked about. The fact that Lebron just punishes you with his strength in the paint takes a toll. I remember a friend of mine who played for U of L would say the same thing about Alvin Simms, guys like that hit you like a truck and it beats you down..

With that being said, i think Reid would be a wonderful outstanding addition to our team. Cal likes to play rough and this young man fits the bill at least from a physical standpoint. Everybody talks about One and Done and how Cal started a system and innovated it, perhaps Cal can also shift to utilizing the GRAD TRANSFER benefit now moving foward, he could technically add experience and physicality year in and year out. Maybe ONE and DONE with GRAD TRANSFER experience is the new way to go????

But if we want to have those great memories years from now, if we want to be sitting around next April in a state of bliss, tomorrow is the beginning. To me it's just as big as a shot going in or a recruit signing or anything like that. It's sort of the beginning of what could be a tremendous journey.

If it doesn't fall UK's way then life goes on. But I'm going to be pretty tuned in until we know for sure.
You are so right. My memories of Kentucky Basketball go way back and I wouldn't take anything for them. That's why I cried when Mr Flynn showed me the nail driven in the floor at Memorial where Hatton hit THE shot. Many more memories since.

It's weird having three players (none of whom show up in any mock drafts) all holding out at the same time to announce.

Suggests they may announce together or in quick succession. Or, as I've said, they each may be waiting on the other because they don't want to battle for playing time at the same position against the others. Once one pulls the trigger then we'll know about the other two.

Actually none of them could announce and just slip quietly into the draft. But I doubt that happens. They want that one last attention BBN will give them.
