I read a rumor the other day Vanderbilt was given a "verbal" by a team in the second round, think it was OKC maybe, not sure. Thinking back and looking for a player i would compare Vanderbilt with, it would be Royce White because of his ball handling skills. Royce was actually a great college player and who knows, if Vanderbilt would have played for a team that could have put the ball in his hands, who knows what type of player he may have become provided he stayed a few years.
With that being said, Vanderbilt may make a living by going the Kenneth Faried route but seriously doubt any team will put the ball in his hands and let him go the Ben Simmons route. MKG has survived in the league without a jumpshot but Vanderbilt is not even close to being on a MKG level.
Overall, bad decision by Gabriel and Vanderbilt, at least in my opinion as a fan. The days of players wanting to come back for a college Championship is long gone, at least at Kentucky it is.
