Shai with a ridiculous 3% body fat. Lowest at the combine.

Washington says it's first round or he's coming back.

Sooooooo.....as of this second, Vanderbilt not going through the combine, Gabriel not rated in the top 100 prospects and Washington has to be first round or back.

Could have some front line experience returning even if they would really rather be elsewhere.

This has been a common refrain during the Cal era.

I've seen fans say this about a bunch of guys who've come back. "Yeah, they're coming back, but they don't want t be here..."

My take on this is that it's pretty common for players to not want to be in school anywhere, and this has been the case since players started leaving early to play pro. That's almost two decades.

You don't hear hardly any of them--at Kentucky or Duke or San Diego St.--say that playing in college is a dream. I haven't heard that since I was a boy. But you hear all of them say the NBA is a dream.

So I just think it's natural. These guys want to be pros. They'll be disappointed if they aren't picked and have to come back. But I don't think that means they'll not play hard for UK when they come back.

I'd be willing to bet Anthony Davis and Wall and Towns and even some of our in-state guys would rather be elsewhere. That didn't hurt them on the court.

              Same.

The only guys I can think of in the Cal era who looked like to me that they clearly didn't want to be here were Skal and Daniel Orton.

I think everybody else seemed to be playing with pride.

The trouble Cal has had obviously is getting that pride to translate into some of these borderline guys wanting to stay in Lexington.

They may not want to be in school but to achieve their dream, they best play hard to reach that dream.

I suppose that's the difference. Likely sums up for me what has changed huge in the game as well as the early entry NBA rule.

As Rick Telader said once about college football, college basketball is age appropriate professional sports. Unpaid minor leagues. (P5 schools at any rate).
To consider it any other way is wishful thinking....or willful ignorance.

An NBA scout tells Kyle Tucker that he thinks PJ Washington should return to UK, but he thinks he will stay in the draft.

Also of note: Washington's surprisingly pedestrian vertical leap at the combine.

Don't shoot the messenger but the way i see, he needs to leave. We have a returning center with more potential and a solid class of more explosive fowards, i think we are good either way. Still hope Vanderbilt comes back but Washington leaving doesn't hurt my feelings at all...

I still want to see PJ, JV, and Wenyen return and battle.for minutes. I love experience and depth even if they don't log a bunch of minutes.

Well i am watching a scrimmage game from the combine and Washington is flat out garbage, 3 straight turnovers and he touched the ball and contributed to two of those.

PJ Washington posts Instagram photo of him in UK uniform, and Jarred Vanderbilt comments.

Per Jerry Tipton, PJ Washington will announce his decision next Wednesday. The deadline is at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

This news would suggest they haven't gotten the guarantee they're looking for yet.
