I'm sure there is a Cal effect. No doubt about it.

The Kentucky Effect. Cal offered them scholarships so they are NBA ready.

Lol....well, all I can say is best of luck. I hope it works out the best for all.
and with everything said, if one of these kids can get that European contract or G league contract AND THAT FULFILLS THEIR DREAM AND MAKES THEM HAPPY....

then by all means, grab that dream while you can.

With Knox it's a no brainer, he will get drafted because of his size, youth, and skillset. If he fails, then no big deal and a team will move on. With Shai also a no brainer, his stock will never be higher so he has to take advantage of the situation and personally, he's not my kind of point guard anyways and he's doing me a favor as a Cat fan by moving on...

For the others good luck but they all have so many flaws at this point it's crazy. If Gabriel needs money for family then overseas makes sense. Diallo may never play in the NBA but that's his choice, wish him the best. To me PJ and Vanderbilt stand to lose the most if they both decide to keep the name in the draft, we may never ever and i mean never hear from them again, it's that much of a risk.....

I don't think he's doing anybody a favor because he was amazing, but he's definitely a position we can overcome IF Ashton Hagans is as good as they say he is.

Shai was one of the great success stories of the Cal era. Came in as a nobody, had to fight for everything he had, became a team leader, is going to be a first-rounder, and is by all accounts a terrific person to be around.

That should be the kind of thing Kentucky basketball is proud of. I have zero problems with anything Shai decided to do and the guy gave it 100% when he was here.

Mock drafts have Washington and Vanderbilt at the very bottom of the draft. Wenyen nowhere to be found:

Could someone more knowledgeable than me explain the advantage of hiring a agent before working out or getting input. Seems like it is closing a door should remain open until after the workouts.

The agent does a lot of draft preparation. They have so many NBA contacts. They can set up workouts and sell their client.

Also it allows the player to have more money. Either by the autograph signings the agent sets up or a direct loan from said agent.

I agree he was a good college player but like i said, his stock will never be higher than what it is today.

The autograph signings and endorsements are a big deal. If you sign with an agent you can automatically get into the business of basketball, which is huge for most of these players.

Exactly why the NCAA should allow them to make money on their image. If you let somebody like Wenyen Gabriel go out and do an autograph tour and make a few thousand bucks that may be enough to keep him in college.

Yup. I read where Anthony Davis made well into the 6 figures on his autograph tour of Kentucky alone. Obviously he's the high end case but even the lower level guys can make some money. Let these guys work summer basketball camps and actually get paid for it, let them do autograph signings at car dealerships, let them capitalize on their status. It might keep the desperate ones in college a while longer.

He wasn't invited. As an aside, I saw, on tv, earlier this evening that Diallo isn't going to attend. Instead, he's going to work out at UK. Go figure.
