Quade needs to just be a rock physically. Needs to be so strong he can go body to body against people and still score. His footspeed makes it so that he's not going to get around many people, so he just needs to be a mauler, one of those Mateen Cleaves sorts who just seeks out contact.
Other than that he needs to be a 40% three-point shooter. Has to keep the defense honest because if they sag even the least bit he's not getting anything in the paint.
I like his demeanor though and his bulldog sensibility. To be a leader though you have to play at a high level; it's hard to lead when you're struggling. He's an important piece but he's got a long way to go to be a consistent player on a really good team.Comment

PJ Washington's dad calls rumors Washington is leaning toward staying in draft "ridiculous."
http://kentuckysportsradio.com/basketball-2/pj-washingtons-dad-says-draft-speculation-is-ridiculous/There’s been some buzz that PJ Washington is leaning towards staying in the NBA Draft, but his dad says all of the speculation is “ridiculous.” “It’s frustrating to me,” Washington Sr. told Larry Vaught. “Where do they get that stuff? People believe it and form opinions based on that misinformation. It’s crazy. It’s ridiculous. All […]Comment

Washington is doing what he should be doing: going through the combines, getting feedback, and making a decision based on that.
If he plays his way into a guaranteed first round pick, then he deserves to go and succeed. But, as we all know, they'll probably be telling him to go back to school. Which, obviously, works in our favor.

Have they announced who got the invites? I think they put a limit on the number of players that can go.Comment

Last year there were 67 players invited.
I think the invites went out privately this past Friday. A couple of players who were invited have leaked out the info--Brian Bowen of UofL fame and Syracuse's Tyus Battle--but so far there have been no other leaks.
The official combine list was released from the NBA last year on May 7th. So I expect to hear something this week.
Washington and Vanderbilt will most assuredly get an invite. Not sure about Wenyen.
It's an absolutely terrible draft to be part of partly because there's so much talent through most of the first round and because there are so many names in this thing.Comment

I would be pretty surprised if JV gets an invite. I don't even know if the scouts have enough tape on him to evaluate. I don't think Wenyen gets one either. I would imagine the feedback for JV is to get healthy and show he can stay that way while developing some type of scoring ability. Whether it's a post move, an average mid range game, or even just the ability to make most of his put backs.
