Or, why it would make a difference in the donation. Unless, he was the donor.

IF you want your school/team to clean up their reputation and do things right then--yes. But if you agree with "win at all costs" you stand behind Jurich. As a LARGE portion of their fanbase and some donors have.

HOWEVER, I will say that UL has thrown out the unbeatable defense with their housecleaning. All they had to do was keep Ramsey, Jurich and Pitino and confirm that these scandals are the way this school does business. It's OK'ed all the way up to the president and BOT's so therefore the NCAA has no jurisdiction. Poof--no violations found.

Welcome back Katina. We missed you.

            To-do about nothing.

Jurich's termination letter was made public around 3:00 pm

Fairly scathing letter, but it had to be, if they were to terminate him for cause.

I'd say it was pretty scathing. Called him a bully who was essentially involved in an under-the-table scheme with the former president.

The letter verified what several had b3n talking about. The pro Jurich forces are already in full uproar. Most want Postel, Grissom and the entire governor appointed BOT dismissed.

Lol......they keep bringing up many on the BOT are UK graduates.....that this is the end game of pure jealousy from UK and Frankfort to bring down the athletic programs.

Tin foil hats should be sold at all Louisville sporting events.

                  Tom Jurich is the devil.

However, his firing process followed up by this letter has been amateur hour.

When this is all done, imo, Jurich will get paid. And Postel will be gone. He's already nearly bankrupted the medical school, acording to sone UL officials i spoke with (no idea if that true) He won't keep this job.

That house will be clean in the end. The AD, HC and President will all be gone. But Jurich will so who be vindicated. That fanbase and a mountain of $$$ that Jurich has control of from boosters, will never let this go.

                  That place is nuts.

The university's case against Jurich is much, MUCH weaker than against Pitino. The board would have better served the university by terminating Jurich without cause and paid him his money. As it is, Jurich is going to sue because his reputation is on the line and he can fairly readily disprove a lot of what's in that letter. The only unknown is what's NOT in the letter, if anything.
Ultimately, they'll settle, but it will needlessly drag on until then. Better to have been done with a clean cut.

Pitino, on the other hand, will never get his 44 million, but they may settle with him for significantly less.

There was some spectacular thievery going on both with the Louisville Foundation and the ULAA. How on earth Ramsey isn't rotting in a Federal prison completely escapes me. Read the Foundation audit. What REALLY transpired between Adidas and Jurich?? The idea that somehow Tom didn't get his "share" is comical. I'm not so sure I'd settle with Jurich. Depose him. Put his a$$ on the stand, under oath. Hell itself would ice up and freeze before I settled with Pitino. The last thing these three want is to put their hands on a Bible and swear to tell the truth, the whole truth.....

I would think Pitino would have a losing hand against U of L for the simple reason that allowing himself to be deposed would be a really bad idea.

Edit - agree with Uncle Dave. Jurich allowed 3 scandals to take place under the basketball program - the idea that the corruption wasn't institutional under his watch doesn't pass muster.

Listened to a sports attorney a few minutes ago who echoed that Jurich's contract was much more stronger than Pitino's and that the current board has a weak case. Said that Jurich can't be held responsible for the Pitino-Sypher sex scandal any more than a private employer can be held responsible for an employee having an affair and being extorted.
He went through the charges and made a pretty strong counter to the claims made in the letter - particularly with regard to "ineffective leadership". All that in the face of the university under the current interim president and current board fully supporting Jurich's handling of the athletic department in its response to the NCAA.

Not saying that Jurich isn't dirty in some of those dealings. Just pointing out that there's enough contradiction from the university that Jurich has a stronger case against it than Pitino will ever have.

I think it boils down that the governor charged Mr Grissom with finding some way to put a tourniquette on Louisville's financial wound.
He also seems to have an alpha dog disposition.

I'm amazed at the UofL fans that had hopes of Jurich returning. Early indicators were that Jurich and Postel didn't get along - evidenced in one of Postel's early interviews where he claims to have not been visited by Jurich upon Postel's appointment and not getting any information from the AD department. Couple that with John Schnatter doubling down and echoing the same at an early board meeting, it was becoming clear that Jurich was at least going to be on a short leash.
