Here's one I was reading something interesting about today. The Flying Dutchman. He was early 20th century baseball player. I'll tell you about his Kentucky connection when you guess his name. It was something I never knew about the state.

Interesting choice. Edwin Donald "Duke" Snider. Also known as "The Silver Fox, and The Duke of Flatbush." I remember him well as one of the best center fielders ever. Brooklyn Dodgers.John 3:3

Yep, here's the rest of the story I promised you. I read the Kentucky Explorer and they had an intersting article about Dawson Springs. It was a veru popular hot springs resort in the early 20th century. It was so popular that the Pittasburgh Pirates had spring training there from about 1915 to 1917. Honus Wagner was on those teams. They had a couple of pictures of the team in front of popular hotel in that area at the time. The Pirates are the only MLB team to hold spring training in the state of Kentucky and probably will be the only ever to do that.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment
