With both Lee and Briscoe, going through the process could reaffirm from what Coach Cal has been teaching and preaching to these guys. Perhaps coming back with feedback from NBA teams will motivate both players to specifically work on things that will land them on a NBA team in the future? If Briscoe decides to leave, he will still have a 2 to 3 year timeframe to play D League and develop his game. If Lee comes back, it's now or never in my opinion for him. If his minutes are limited next year, he had better make the most of it and show he's making strides in the right direction..........

But really the question about him is how much point guard will he play at Kentucky. They may not be confident about being able to play the necessary minutes at the point with Fox coming in, so the D-League might be an option.
Often the D-League isn't a great option for these players because they wash out in there. It's a risky deal, especially if you go undrafted, and there's a good chance Briscoe will.Comment

Briscoe will need a shooting coach if he does leave.

Briscoe needs to come back to Kentucky in my opinion. Even if he's not playing point and playing the two or three, coming back serves him well. Still, i would gamble on him if i was a GM. I am convinced he can get to the rim anytime he wants and his body is already NBA ready, he just needs to learn how to shoot and make freethrows.Comment

Big week for Kentucky basketball.
Briscoe tells the tale on whether Kentucky will be a true contender or not. Think the Cats will need a lot of luck if they have to play so many freshmen all season. With Briscoe I believe we'll be behind Duke as the second most talented team and will have a solid first 7.Comment

It just might be, he's not hearing what he wants to hear, and is trying to find the right situation for him. I hope he returns to UK with the attitude of changing the minds of NBA GM's.John 3:3

No, not saying he hates UK. I have no idea if he loves UK (I assume he does). I just meant that it seems like he is trying to find any way to go to the NBA. I know that's his goal, but it seems clear (from all the analysts, mock drafts, him not being invited to combine) that most think he should return to school.Last edited by UKtimefor9; 05-23-2016, 09:13 AM.Comment

You'd have to think a big part of it is that they know his future is as a point guard, Kentucky has a superstar point guard coming in, and there's no guarantee he could move up in the draft next year.
He might come back, play the wing again like he did last year, have a better year...and still find himself unranked in these draft projections. You can see their dilemma there.
I don't think that will happen. I believe UK is going to be so good with him that everybody gets some shine. But it is true that his point guard minutes are going to be hard to come by, because Fox is a phenom.Comment

That he is still legitimately undecided or that he is just keeping the BBN's attention like these recruits do.Comment
