Random thought of the day. Cal may not be the greatest X's and O' coach in the world but man did he bring in some generational talent to Kentucky. It is a shame we really never was able to see some of those players truly develop. With players like Davis, Cousins, Wall, Maxey, Shai, Booker, Towns, Murray, Hero, maybe even S. Sharpe, these players are all big time best of the best type of players who will always be associated with the University of Kentucky from now until the end of time.

I wish Cal would hang it up sooner than later and let all this hate/love relationship pass. From his off the court stuff across the state of Kentucky to his relationship with JOE B., there was plenty of good times while he was here.

Some days I hate him and other times I miss the days when Kentucky was the talk of college basketball and dominating everyone in our path, especially with sure fire NBA all stars on the team., kind of a old Rick Pitino type Louisville situation. Still one bad game in 15 and Cal may have had the best controversial team in basketball history, especially in the modern era, gotta love him for that...

I'm glad he didn't stay. I don't want him anywhere near the program. Coach Pope doesn't need his advice or his help with recruiting.

I watched that whole thing after our game. Arkansas is in serious trouble.

They really run no offense. I mean that was a complaint about Calipari here for years, but it's true. It's no offense. It's basically what we just called "random" in high school. Playground ball.

Another interesting thing if you're looking for differences between Pope and Cal (and there are many): Cal doesn't even acknowledge his assistant coaches. They might as well not be over there at all. Pope talks to his assistants before every timeout, consults with them, etc. He clearly sees it as a team effort on the bench. Cal's just a man on an island.

The only way this gets better is if UK boat races them February 1. Arkansas could be 0-7 in league play coming to UK. Missouri, Georgia, and Oklahoma are their next 3 games.

Boogie Fland is a quintessential Calipari guard. He can basically get himself a shot whenever he wants. No team concept or coaching required. Problem here? He and Adou are not dominant enough to beat decent teams on their own. I’d say they’re in deep doodoo.
