But I didn't see him that way. Just a crap coach who, obviously, can't accept it.

So I do feel sorry for him...but I don't spend a whole lotta time thinking about it or anything. All in all I don't really care. However I'd probably be a lot more salty if we were sitting here at .500 or something because of the players he took that we could've had. But considering I like our players and really like our coach, none of it amounts to a whole lot in the end.
He's a millionaire hall of famer who has won a national championship. I don't feel sorry for him at all.

We've all sucked at our jobs at one point or another, and nobody is crying tears for us. And we're not making millions of dollars to suck, either.

Jones is having Jay Williams on today. Jones ranted mostly about Seth Greenberg yesterday, claiming that Seth essentially runs a PR firm for Cal. Jones also alleged that Greenberg had sent him some "nasty" texts about Cal, to which a few other college basketball journalists jumped in to say they'd received similar texts from Greenberg.
What time is this today, would like to have the POPCORN ready lol...

People say this, and I guess I get it, but Jones is really good at his job.

He is. I just find that he dominates the conversation and doesn't really consider anything other than his own opinion. Sometimes if I listen to the postgame I find myself saying "Shut up and let them finish their sentence." I do appreciate that he has an audience that helps get UK more national exposure.

I like Matt on the radio a whole lot. I don't get to listen a bunch but when I do I enjoy it.

I've posted this several times but my late dad ran a radio station down home. He loved Matt Jones. Told me once that in his almost 30 years of running that station he'd never been able to sell ads...until Matt Jones came on. He thought Jones was a genius and he listened every day. Piped KSR into his law office and had it going through the speakers like muzak.

His talent for radio is evident when you listen to the show and he's absent.

He talks over people, but I don't care about that, because I find the show is at its weakest when they're discussing sports or fielding calls. I find that most of the people who call in are idiots, anyway. I wouldnt suffer their silliness, either.

I've never once in my life thought to myself, "You know what? I've got some thoughts on that game. Let me pick up the telephone and call a radio show to talk about it."

Seems almost...old-fashioned? It's so weird. Now people are just buying equipment and starting up their own podcasts to do it. Don't even need to call a talk radio show. Just DIY.

Message boards are pretty weird too, but when I first discovered these places they were way different. They were almost like Facebook where you'd post something, then maybe a couple days later somebody would reply. I think on the old Wildcatchat board I found back in college it was almost literally like posting your thoughts on a cork board and then other people would eventually, maybe, wander up and respond to you if you were lucky.

Yep. 3 games. Averaging about 36 min per. More than anyone else on the team. But at the Mizzou game press conference Cal talked about how bad the hand was. Would like to know what went down in that locker room right after the buzzer sounded. I bet it was uncomfortable. And I don’t mean the hand.

                          Anything of interest?

Not just saying this because he played for Duke: I think Williams is very unintelligent, and terrible at his job as a result.

No. Jones misinterpreted what Williams said in the first place, so if anything, it made him look like the loser. Plus a lot of talking over one another.

The real beef should have been with Cal's side piece, Seth Greenberg, but he's never coming on the show again.

Hogs just got their 1st conference win. 34 freethrow attempts helps.

I watched *A LOT* of SEC basketball last night. Texas A&M/Ole Miss was sort of unbelievable because TAMU had no business winning that. And while I don't care about Cal one way or the other, it was good seeing Adou Thiero ice that game for Arkansas. I *really* wish we had that guy on this team. He'd be unbelievably perfect for what Pope needs.
