I guess more losses than anticipated which make them a bubble team rather than a certain tourney team with a first weekend exit. Would take a strong finish to get them in.

Some guys -- Davis, Towns, Randle, Wall - were who they are when they stepped on campus. Gilgeous-Alexander wasn't, and frankly, he wasn't for his first three or four years in the league. It has been incremental development every year since 2018.

Cal inherited Harrelson and Liggins
Then you have Orton ,Skal ,Goodwin, Kanter, Marcus Lee ,Mulder,Vanderbilt ,S. Sharpe ,Diallo, Nick Richards ,Boston, and Briscoe that came through and really never fit In but managed to play in the big leagues.
This list says one thing and one thing only. John Calipari is the most underachieving college basketball coach in the history of the game..Last edited by KentuckyWild2020; 02-10-2025, 09:40 AM.Comment

My all Cal Kentucky impact team would start with A. Davis, maybe Oscar second. Oscar was flat out dominate his first year.
Wall Cousins Knight Murray Monk with Randle Fox Herro Dillingham Sheppard honorable mention.Comment

I kinda disagree with this. By midseason, Gilgeous-Alexander had pretty much taken the reigns of that team and was playing more minutes than anyone. And, like Devin Booker before him, he wasn't anywhere near his NBA version when he was here. Not so much because of Cal, but because he was a raw 18 year old who was scratching the surface of his talent.
