Thiero is similar to Azubuike but his speed and explosiveness are considerably more frightening (there's no other word I can think of). He's WAY different in that regard than he was just last year. It's crazy to watch.

He's probably not as consistent as Azubuike became, because Azubuike could shoot. Thiero is just one relentless drive to the basket after another. But he does have more 20+ point games already this season than Azubuike had his entire senior year.

The most athletic pound for pound was Bledsoe in my opinion.


Diallo was freakish in some ways but very one dimensional.

The player that could have carried the torch in the Thiero Azabuike comparison is Alex Poythrees , he had all the tools, strength, vertical, and size. Poythrees shooting and lack of Alpha dog mentality was his downfall.

Putrid boxscore for Wagner and even Fland last night. Sure it’s early in the conference season but it looks like it would take a pretty significant “tweak” by Cal to get a high seed this season. Of course on the bright side it doesn’t look nearly as bad when a 7 seed loses to a 10 as when a 2 loses to a 15.

His press conference looked like a tape delay from a few of his post-game comments while he was here. Seriously, could they miss the tournament? That loss was at Bud Walton. Several more losses coming their way in this league and if you can't protect home court you're, as my kids say, cooked bro.

My guess is he gets in but flames out quickly. And says some of his favorite babble. But really no telling. But a deep run would be shocking (to me) when they cannot shoot.

They're going to have to get 4 or 5 big wins in conference play to do it. Not sure if they have the gamers to do it, although Boogie Fland and Thiero are both pros. Davis and Aidoo look to be busts, and Brazille is similar to the guy he was last year.

Arkansas Florida, i haven't seen Ivisic at all, started watching towards the end of the first half.

Wagner having his moments in the second half but lack of three point shooting, missed free throws, blown defensive assignments, seen this movie before..

Not embarrassing to lose to Florida. But it was in Bud Walton. It did make them 0-3 in conference. And Fland BANKED IN a 3 at the end to bring them UP to the 18.8% on threes for the game (3-16).

Only question is do they fight or do they collapse.
