What Boozer was saying is really no more or less than we have said, that John Calipari is the only Kentucky coach he has ever known and he thinks it's Cals system that created Towns, Davis, and the rest of the NBA Cats...as he said, Cal simply moved offices and what Pope is preaching is a whole different game.
I'd say Kentucky doesn't have much shot with this young'n...and for what Pope's system was at prior stops, he probably wouldn't be a great fit playing style wise.
Just what we are gonna be seeing for a season or two.

Pope’s huge weekend with 6 visitors has crumbled. Pretty disappointing. This may end up being a mess

Also Rivals guys are saying the Deivon Smith visit is cancelled this weekend. That would be disappointing.

So now it looks like Mahaney and maybe Oweh this weekend as far as commits. As I said above I'd be really surprised if they can land Carr considering he has multiple visits still planned.

Still, Mahaney + the Robinson news is still a good weekend for UK all things considered.

It's almost as bad as when Kentucky loses the second half by 4.

As expected, Otega Oweh is a Cat.

Peja Jr. apparently wanted guaranteed playing time that Pope wasn’t willing to promise, and Smith has transcript issues because of university policy - nothing basketball related.

The latter may still work out, but who knows?

I selfishly wanted Stojakovich because he kinda looks like a player who at some point in his career is going to make a pretty large jump.

One thing you notice on social media that's odd: Kentucky fans are conditioned into believing that players are gonna stay the same. That's a byproduct of Cal. In the old days (like in the '90s and part of the 2000s) we had several players who were radically different when they hit 20. Just otherworldly different.

These (mostly) young Kentucky fans have forgotten how it works in the game of basketball...and in biology. They seem convinced players are just gonna be flat across their careers. You look at these guys driving the bus on Final Four teams...they weren't anything like what they would turn out to be when they were freshmen. We've gotten so far away from that it's like the fanbase is kinda brainwashed.

For a team as bad as we were defensively last year, this crew is radically different.

Will is absolutely correct in that Cals system was largely instant gratification. As an older fan part of my enjoyment was watching kids develop.

Richie Farner is a good example. Nazr Mohammed was considered an elephant as a frosh...he ended up okay.
kids change. Sometimes massively better, sometimes not.

I think the staff saw what I personally saw when I watched some of those NCAA Tournament games after Kentucky lost: how hard teams were going after the ball, how rugged they were, how resilient they were. Drexel was one team I personally watched and how they just flat attacked loose balls was so different than what Kentucky did it was crazy.

Of course you have to have talent. If you haven't got a couple of take-over-the-game types you aren't going to get far. But almost as important are guys who will just go out there and lay it down.

I swear to god, and I say this a lot because I really believe it, basketball comes back to hustle so much of the time.

Blows to hear the news of Stojakovic Jr. but if he's afraid to work and carve out minutes, next.

In all fairness, kid probably wants to stsy close to home. If you can afford California, no other place to be..

Otega Oweh had 23 points in a game against North Carolina in December.

Also a player who made a substantial jump from freshman to sophomore year. Was in double figures only four times as a freshman (one of those times he had 18 against Kansas St., who would go on to beat us in the NCAA Tournament).
