Koby Brea deciding between Kentucky, UCONN, Carolina, Duke, and Kansas.

Would be a shocker of a pull by Mark Pope with that group.

All have tradition. All have NIL budget. We’ve got playing time! Go ahead Mark—make promises in year one.

Davis, Brea, Robinson, Osobor, and Williams would be a really intriguing starting five. If Pope can pull that in his first month on the job I'd be super impressed.

Pope is visiting Jayden Quaintance today. Would be a freakish long shot but I’m impressed he got a visit. Seems maybe like a leverage situation aimed at Arkansas to try and raise the offer.

Trilly says that two of those teams are not even being considered (NC and Duke). I expect McNeely to UConn, so it will probably be a Pope/Self Battle.

He would thrive in Pope's system, I sure hope he can see that.

KU people believe Kugel is on his way out of KU (academic issues) and they will get Brea to take his place

Why would Kansas accept Riley Kugel only to dismiss him for academics a month later?

Then I would expect Kugel to transfer to UNC-Ch. They seem to have classes especially taylored for athletes.

Accepting his commitment and him actually getting into and attending KU are two totally different things.

Can you think of a situation where a guy announced he was transferring, the basketball program welcomed him in...and then a month later they discovered academic issues and turned him away? That's a weird series of events at a program as big as Kansas. Almost always they get those guys eligible and enrolled.

TBH though Kugel plays the game as if he's a bit slow. Not a great basketball player and if they could trade up for the Dayton player then that's a win for them.

I don’t disagree. But, we are in a brand new, wild world of college basketball. And, I’m just sharing what some KU people I know are saying. May be nonsense but that’s the internal KU fan chatter going on right now.

Ugonna Onyenso pulls his name out of the draft and enters the portal. Looks like sanity finally entered the chat there.

Just imagine me making a shocked face right now, what a joke. His "handlers" must really be something else.
