I would expect some big names to hit the portal soon. Some guys are waiting for their final NIL checks before they hit the portal.

I've read that he was pretty bad last season but perhaps the analytics say something different.

Reed has strength and maturity to gain by returning. We all know not one player on last years team was physically ready for the NBA. Dill, Edwards or Big O will make a roster this year, and if they do, they'll sit a lot.

As much as I would dearly love to see Reed come back, and recognize areas he could definitely improve, there is a part of me that thinks his draft ceiling will never be higher than now.

I wish him and his family the best on this choice. My heart says he will come back for one more year. My mind is saying he has played his last as a Kentucky Wildcat and trying to think on who may be next.

You point about strength and maturity are well taken, but he's going to be a top 10 pick just the way he is. By coming back to play, on what most likely will be a weak team, he risks his draft stock dropping plus the possibility of suffering a career ending injury.

Does the NCAA allow a player to buy an insurance policy to protect them against a careen ending injury? Maybe Reed could do a commercial for an insurance company.

Oh I understand, and you are right. His risk of an injury is real and will be a part of his decision. I wish him the best whatever he decides. He may be waiting to see the makeup of the team before he decides.

The historically weak draft will likely play a role in Reed's decision as well.

                      Duke's Jeremy Roach is transferring.

                      HUGE name in the portal.

iirc, players could always buy a policy, but usually was too expensive. Now of course with NIL money they could afford it.

                        its not a Statefarm/GEICO insurance….

Roach would be a phenomenal get. He’s going to have a list a mile long but right at the top of the list is apparently Arkansas

At some point these guys who’ve not blown the NBA scouts away in 3 or 4 years need to realize that a year under Cal doesn’t transform you. Reid Travis. Hope he goes about anywhere but there.

                              Agreed...

Still i hate to see Reed sit on draft day slip and wait for his name to be called, seen it happen many times with media mock drafts.

                              Wingspan, athletic ability, speed, etc.

Reed has a extraordinary IQ and he's a great shooter but he will sit and watch alot depending on where he goes..

Zagoria says it’s a battle between UK, Ark and St. John’s for Roach.

What. Massive get that would be for Pope if he could reel him in.
