Rumor per KSR is that Dickinson wants to come to UK, but only if Oscar leaves.

So if that is the case, who do you think would be a better fit with next years squad, if you had your choice?

Dickinson obviously spreads the floor more, but would not come close on rebounding production.

That's what we in the biz (the "opining on things of which we know nothing" biz) call a "conundrum". Between those two, it's gotta be Oscar though, right?

Yeah, I think it's gotta be Oscar. If he's going to come back, I do understand the need for a reasonably quick decision rather than keeping us in limbo.

But this is the part about player development and value of the program, you know...the idea that Kentucky isn't just "Fail and Bail". A player can come here for multiple years and still grow, succeed, win some games, and then go on to a successful professional career a la WCS and Nick Richards.

We used to be Big Man U. Show the country we still have some chops, Cal.

I will admit that I like the idea of Dickinson simply because he's such a great offensive player.

I tend to agree, but not by much. Dickinson at his best opens up the offense in a way Oscar can’t, or hasn’t shown he can. Only a marginally better defender than Oscar, though, and obviously he’ll never touch Oscar’s ability to rebound.

I dunno. End of the day, I agree with something Will said elsewhere: don’t want Oscar playing for another team, so bring him on back.

I have to roll with the BIG O and hope that if he does come back, he has extended his range and improved on the defensive end.

Have we become a program that allows a HS player to dictate our roster? If so, we have dropped farther down as a program than I thought. If Dickinson comes to Kentucky, he's a great player and I would love to have him, but as a player not a coach.

He isn't a HS player. He is an Oscar-level maybe-better transfer.

Is Lance ok with these moves?

As Spirit said Dickinson has been in college for three years.

And I'd say these types of things are super common...and they make total sense for the player. I'm not sure he's giving Kentucky an ultimatum as much as he's just saying, "If you already have somebody at my position, I can't come."

That's normal and has probably happened hundreds of times over the years at Kentucky. It's what I'd do if I was Dickinson.

I'd say competition, at their position, is a prime consideration for most transfers. It's just that most aren't as public in discussing it.

I do wish Oscar would say yay or nay. He could decide not to return, and cost us Dickinson or someone else as well.

I guess I'm out of the loop, I thought he was coming in as a freshman. Now I realize he is the transfer from Michigan which makes more sense. Thanks.

I’m being sarcastic. Wasn’t there a rumor last year about Lance having an issue with a roster move? Embarrassingly I can’t remember what it was about but I’ve seen people joke about having to have Lance’s approval before we allow people to join the team.
