It irks me that Cal doesn’t openly shop the portal as if his water testers aren’t returning. If they get to weigh all their options and bide their time, Cal shouldn’t wait for them.

Dickinson will go out and shoot 3s. He was 42% this past season. So he could pull the opponents 5 out and leave Oscar to rebound.

Exactly. Today's CBB is just annoying. I just don't see myself getting too invested in it. Results are all that matters to me anymore. The journey and process just sucks.

I should clarify that basically this is all in reference to the way Cal operates. I just don't even care what he does or says or even what perception he puts out there. I'm just totally disengaged now. I have pretty much zero faith the dude will get it back together or has any idea what he's doing lol but I'm not sure he's the only one in this situation. The playing field is more level than we even think IMO

After CBB cycles through all these COVID yrs maybe the playing field will readjust some, but that remains to be seen.

Just from memory it looks like the only three players Kentucky has actually contacted in the portal are Hunter Dickinson, Dalton Knecht, and Tennessee's Olivier Nkamhoua.

I've always thought one of Cal's flaws is that he shrinks who he recruits down too tightly. You'll notice on the recruiting trail he's usually only looking at two or three players at any given time. That seems to be the case here with the portal. I suspect his own ego convinces him he can get these guys and when Plan A falls through it's very hard to regroup and grab someone else that's of a similar caliber as the guy you lost.

One of his pitches several years ago was that the Kentucky Offer was something that wasn’t given to just anyone, but only the elite. He later ditched that after he managed to make Nike mad at us and Duke started landing those guys.

I read a article saying the Arkansas coach had contacted 84 portal players!! How accurate that number is I can’t say. Seems like he is saying you are welcome here as long as the scholarships are available. First come first served situation.
