His decision to return is what is confusing to me. Most of our freshmen believe they are suppose to leave after one year and other schools have freshmen return. Frustrating to say the least.

There are isolated examples of players coming back but in all honesty, college basketball is sort of a free for all right now for everybody, not just Kentucky. The portal is evidence of that.

I don't really think so because we're not even sure who's returning yet. If Oscar, Onyenso, Reeves, and Ware or Collins return and Dillingham shows up then Kentucky might not have to have anything in the portal?

I'd like one more guard if all those things happen but I'm not sure you 100% have to have something.

The trouble is if three or four of those things don't happen and Livingston leaves. Then you're hit with a situation where you need at the very least two and maybe three in the portal.

It’s silly of Cal to act like those spots still belong to the guys who are testing the waters. I’m not saying they’re definitely leaving, but if I were Cal, I’d view that as the players effectively forfeiting their spots, and I’d get out there and shore them up. If some of last year’s guys decide to come back and the spot is still open, it’s theirs, but that should be a risk they take by testing the waters.

They shouldn’t have sole ownership of a spot while they decide whether or not they want it. It’s BS.

This is the main problem with assembling a roster in CBB now when guys are "testing the waters". I agree with you that as soon as you announce something other than you're returning, your spot is open. If I was Cal I'd be going after the best I could get that addresses any needs.

I read they had until May 31 to return to school. A lot can happen before then in regards to who returns plus the current players in the portal committing elsewhere. Like was stated in a previous post, assume they are all leaving and go after the best players available.
