Best of luck to you Cason Wallace
Not sure how everyone else feels but I'm sick of one and donesComment

I have never had an issue with one and dones, especially potential lottery picks. What has bothered me over the last decade is the ones that have left that don’t get drafted, and I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling Oscar and Toppin are gonna join that list, Livingston as well if he’s dumb enough to stay in it.Comment

If anything else, our (ahem) "roster building efforts, formerly called recruiting" has shown that you have to recruit to a style of play. You have to have a vision.
With our revolving door of a program we've shown that you can't just grab what's out there and figure it out later. A program that does that, and we have done that far more often than not, is at threat to fall on its face. We have done just that while UConn has won 3 in the last 12 years. I thought we could win 3 in 12, and I'd probably get a Calipari tattoo.Comment

Yeah, particularly defensively. If he wants to switch like he does and play only that type of defense game after game for 40 minutes then you have to have a shot-blocker on the back side. All Cal's good/great teams have had one. If you don't then you have to slough and change things up and protect your front line...which, as we all know, Calipari absolutely will not do that.Comment

Maybe a hot take, but to me it makes it a little easier than they've done it under three different coaches.
I'm not sure why that makes it any different, but it does.
For one thing it suggests Kentucky could move on from Cal and win if we got the right guy. (We all know this, but there have been programs who *haven't* won nearly as much without a particular coach.)
Their situation has shown it really is about the program. That's a good thing as Kentucky likely moves into the last year with Calipari.Comment

Hit the nail on the head. You have to have a system in place and recruit for that system. Cal just grabs who he can get in the top whatever so he can brag about it and usher them off to the NBA a year later, it has become a complete joke , makes my blood boil to honest. I appreciate Calipari off the court across the state ,he does a great job lying to folks and telling them what they want to hear but on the court whatever system he's running or whatever moves he's making is junior league compared to other coaches in the game. I said i would give Calipari one more year simply because of this great recruiting class but in the back of my mind, it will probably be the same ol same ol with wasted talent and opportunity. If anything else, our (ahem) "roster building efforts, formerly called recruiting" has shown that you have to recruit to a style of play. You have to have a vision.

This would be okay if he were landing the top players like he was in the first 5/6 years.
Cal's missed a bunch of those top players and they still leave. That's the flaw in the whole system.
It's not like we have one-and-done phenoms running around and Cal is losing with them. It's that we don't have enough phenoms and he still runs the program like we do.Comment
