Because he’s guaranteed to get you to the tournament.

Stomach some stuff and you’re going to win.

Not disagreeing here, but if he's even mentioned as a candidate I'll eat my shorts.

Mentioned by who? And will you record it?

I actually don't think his age is a hindrance. John Beilein is mentioned in that article Crazzed posted and I believe he's actually older than Pitino.

I can see a rationale for him that makes sense - you get him to stabilize the program and prove that you can still win there, then he retires in a few years later and you hire someone else. I just don't think IU can stomach that with all that went on under him at Louisville.

Mentioned by the media as having had real conversations about the job.

And sure I'll post it on TikTok.

Iona took a risk because the NCAA hasn't ruled on Pitino yet and due to his and Carey's friendship. There's a good possibility that there will be a show cause penalty. This may not impact Iona, but Pitino's already risky enough for anyone else without having to deal with that. IU had their fill of infractions shenanigans with Kelvin Sampson.

I would be extremely surprised if they have him shortlisted..
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

The thing about Indiana is that if you coach there, you're walking into a high school basketball gold mine. Whoever can corner the block on just local talent could have an elite program.

Trouble is, the talent has been too dispersed across Indiana's 1000 universities since Bobby Knight left, so IU hasn't been able to own that block. They also haven't had a dynamic coach and have settled for anti-Knights, i.e. quirky weirdoes like Tom Crean.

They will probably open the bank for somebody like Scott Drew. In the meantime if Stevens is fired after the NBA season then you know it will break every IU fan's heart, and Drew will suddenly be under more pressure than he already was.

                  Minnesota has fired Little Ricky.

Why does this matter? They have a guard in Marcus Carr who we should hope will add his name to the transfer portal.

We needed a WCN TikTok way back when.

                    Among its recordings:

                    1. CrazzedCats taking a reciprocal saw to his big screen television.

                    2. Will Lavender vs Sunballer for a game of HORSE on the beach. Which beach? I don't know. Does it matter?

                    3. WCN Staff versus ISIS and the slew of spammers that followed.

                    4. Grover versus UK Police

                    5. BCG vs Alan Cutler from the vantage of Cutler's body cam.

                      I forgot all about Grover.

True story, I was in the UK Pep band when he came up to a group of us at a women's game and asked if he could pay us on the side to play at Bill Keightley's birthday party. I can't remember exactly what happened - I'm pretty sure UK shot it down - but that would've been something else.

Pitino and Beilein are the same age. IU won't stomach Pitino due to the turmoil at UofL and their own experiment with Sampson.

                          You're right - I thought Pitino was 66, but he's actually 68.

Brad Stevens is not going to Indiana, and anybody who thinks he is is delusional.

They best they can hope for is Scott Drew (which, granted, would be a grand slam hire).

Not that the NBA is a paradise, but it seems a hell of a lot better than college coaching. If Stevens is fired from Boston, he'll probably have no trouble getting another job.

DePaul’s coach has been fired. Will Peevy poach one of our assistants?
