I agree with Will. Apparently a decision has not been made, or an announcement would have been made.

Kentucky generally wants to do these announcements when there's a lot of eyeballs on them. That's why all the Twitter stuff or the press conferences are right in the middle of the day--more activity around the announcements, more hype.

So in that way it makes sense that UK would not put out a press release or something now, in the evening in the East. But that source looks like a guy that simply writes about the Nets. There might be other teams involved that we don't know about...and the Nets generally and northeast basketball people specifically are notoriously bad about just throwing out wrong crap. See Tubby to the 76ers a few years ago, Cal to the Nets about five times, etc.

I would imagine there's a lean but wouldn't be surprised if something hasn't been 100% decided.

A phonecall today would mean no more than a phonecall sometime tomorrow. And guys are coming back to school left and right now. So I can envision a scenario where they're still legitimately holding out for a call.

Don't think they take it into the evening tomorrow. If he's coming back I think we'll hear in the early afternoon the way you hear about everything. Those things are scripted by coach/school/player because they generate a ton of interest. Kentucky could be the #1 trending topic in the world based on how that message goes out.

I did mean late afternoon. I would say he doesn't have a 1st round guarantee. Maybe a 2nd round. A late one at that and that is probably what he and his camp is deciding on.

That's an easy decision. You don't enter the draft on the guarantee that you'll be picked in the second round. Those contracts are peanuts next to a first-round deal.

Every one of Cal's one-and-dones has been a first-round pick.

If he would've been fine with the second round he would've gone ahead and got an agent in April. I have to think this is all about getting one of these teams to commit to him in the first.
