Washington hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2011.

Forget the question of how they're getting recruits like Markelle Fultz. I wonder how Romar is even still employed there.

I guess he built up enough capital on that three-year run beginning in '08, but he's kind of the Leonard Hamilton of the West. Guy tends to do shockingly little but still get talented players.

Fultz is a stud, too. I like our recruits, but Fultz will probably be a really good player.

Fultz might end up being one of the best in this class....stud.

Right on Cue, Ayton says Kentucky has been in contact, and mirrors his game after Anthony Davis....

Looks like Young, Bamba, and Green are the three that Cal is really hitting hard.

Not sure about John Petty. Talk from the Peach Jam is that Alabama is on him super hard.

Ayton remains in play but is still a mystery. He trimmed his list recently to Arizona, Kansas, UK. Kansas is probably the frontrunner as they stayed on him during the months when it was rumored he would never play in college.

Saw yesterday that an ESPN writer predicted Trae Young would end up at Oklahoma. Hope that's not the case as it looks like Cal and staff covet him the most.

Think the chances with Bamba and Green are pretty slim. But I do think Young is still likely. Watched the Peach Jam final Sunday Young and Porter Jr were like men among boys.

I think UK's next class will be something like Trae Young, John Petty, Nick Richards, Jarred Vanderbilt and maybe (hopefully) PJ Washington but Shaka Smart is trying hard to keep Washington in Texas.

The ESPN guy was someone I have never heard of and he did say "I'm going to say Oklahoma in an upset over UK'

^^^ Like that article breakdown. I think one of two things will happen with Ayton: (1) Won't be eligible (and there are whispers similar to Thon Maker that he is older than what is claimed) (2) If he goes to school it will be Kansas.

Porter is going to UW, his father works for the team and his older brother plays for Washington. I would be shocked to hear he chose another school.

Michael Porter, Jr. is indeed going to Washington. Made it official last night.

Has close ties with Trae Young.

Trae Young will take an official visit to UK during Midnight Madness.

He seems like THE guy to get this year. Hopefully Cal can reel him in.
                            Kentucky fan since 1971.

I heard the staff brought in an in-state player this past week, and the kid and his family weren't real happy with things. Cal was a little brusque, just kind of whipped in quickly and then left.

But the staff did tell the player that they were recruiting three guards, and if those players signed early then there would be no offer. If they didn't sign and waited until late, then UK would extend an offer.

I thought it was a good sign that they were that open, but I heard the player and Mom and Dad were a little bit peeved. He's being recruited hard by some other schools--WVU and Georgia were mentioned--so he might feel a little bit more needed there.

The unfortunate thing for these more marginal players is that the '17 class is stacked.

The Trae Young fullcourt press is on.

Yesterday Cal put out a series of tweets about "having all the information to make your decision" and not letting anyone else sway you. Clearly aimed at Young.

Today Young tweeted this, which of course is the title of Cal's next book:
