Maybe, but they could easily exist together. Diallo will play the 2 if he returns. Knox is a wing.

Though if Diallo truly is the best athlete in this draft class, as Rothstein tweeted this morning, then he's definitely gone.

Hard to say -- The class with the Harrison Twins had the number one rated player at every position except the "3" -- and we had the #2 there in Young. And, in hindsight, hard to argue against the Davis-MKG class. Also in hindsight, KAT, Booker, Lyles group looks good, as does the Fox, Monk, Adebayo class. This class probably has MORE REALLY GOOD players, but it remains to be seen how many GREAT ones.

I told you guys that the staff felt better about Knox than everybody else, who were just conceding him to Duke or and UNC (based on nothing).

Trust in Cal and enjoy the ride. These are the good ol days.

He could...come to college?

He knew he was going to play in college for months. Was considering Oregon for weeks before UK even came on the scene.

One thing about UK and Bamba is that Nick Richards is in the fold. So it's not like UK is just opened up for Bamba. Have no idea what that means in terms of landing him, but Texas' Jarrett Allen has his name in the draft (but hasn't hired an agent). Allen is almost certainly gone to the league, so there will be no one in front of Bamba there.

I hope that doesn't turn out to hurt UK...but you could see how it might.

At the time I thought he had to get eligibility in some way. Bamba has said that it's imperative he goes somewhere that he thinks has a great chance of winning a national title. That's not going to happen if he goes to Texas.

With the Knox surprise one could dream a little. If Diallo were to stay, we add Bamba and Cam Johnson...not saying you could just hand us the title because a team has to have chemistry but doesn't every other college coach just have to throw in the towel when they're recruiting against Cal? Would be unbelievable!

Well at the very least it makes it so that Diallo going doesn't kill you. Which is huge.

Knox isn't a true shooting guard but may be forced there because you're going to have to get Vanderbilt on the court. If nothing else we're going to come at you with some pretty colossal size.

I think it is likely that we get Diallo back and get Bamba. VERY likely. Johnson isn't coming now IMO.

But with that scenario, this team will very possibly be preseason #1.....and probably not the unanimous favorite, but a very heavy favorite. We'll see what happens.

A 10 man rotation of Green, Diallo, Knox, Washington, Bamba, Alexander, Vanderbilt, Gabriel, SKJ, Richards, and maybe even an 11th with Baker, if shooting is needed, seems very possible.... an Unreal collection of talent and athleticism....but virtually no experience..... I like that team tho lol

The field next season has the potential to be incredibly diluted with virtually no teams who put fear into anyone. The fact that Arizona, with a coach who's never been to a Final Four, will likely have the #1 team gives you some hope that Kentucky could be a major player if things fall the right way.

It looked bleak just a week ago. The Knox decision completely rearranged the game.

Said this weekend that it will be before the NBA Draft.

Why would that play into anything since he can't go pro yet? He's milking this for all its worth. Wake me when he makes a decision.
