Someone at KSR also mentioned that Reddish might not stay in the top five. Don’t know if that’s just speculation or if that’s a legitimate conversation, but if true, then there you go (if you’re worrying about Duke’s standing).

Per KSR, Cal visited James Wiseman today.

Cross your fingers for a reclassification, gang. We get him for next season and he's ours for two years.

This may be a stupid question but why would we get him for two years?

Because right now he’s only 16.

Add him and Zion, and you're looking at a 2015 style run in the works.

Get them both and we’ll be good, but I’m holding off on the ‘15 talk for the time being. That was a national championship team, plus Towns, Booker, Lyles and Ulis.

We have a long way to go before we’ll know what the current geoup’s going to look like.

To be fair, we didn't expect Ulis and Booker to be anywhere near as good as they were going into the season.

Nick Richards and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are two guys who Kentucky will badly need to hang onto. (Just assuming that PJ Washington won't be in the first round discussion.)

Richards and SGA will be mentioned as possibilities for the first round. If you return those two guys, with Green and Washington and Wenyen Gabriel and Killeya-Jones, and pull in Zion and the 17-year-old...then you've got a team.

But that's a lot of ifs. Not only do we have to worry about one-and-dones, you've also got the transfer possibilities. Some of these guys may feel like they've been recruited over and don't want to stick it out.

For any of this to work though you've got to get Zion. This thing doesn't work without a star as the anchor.

So you're just conceding Jarred Vanderbilt to the NBA?

I would think so, yes. But the months off may set him back a good ways.

Think he has the kind of motor and game the NBA will be intrigued by. Longterm potential as a perimeter player. Much murkier with Washington because his skill base is not as polished.

True. But it'd be nice to know we're returning the core of a contender before anointing next year's team a repeat of '15.

James Wiseman announced he will not reclassify to the class of 2018.

                          Crap.

Yep. Makes it all the more essential that both Richards and SKJ stick around for another year, because even if we get Moses Brown I don't think he'll give us much in his first season.

Problem is, the way Richards has played as of late, he could find himself on a lot of draft boards by season's end.

Is the jury still out on Vanderbilt going pro next season or is it to early to tell?
