The fact that Cal never went and visited Barrett after it was suggested he was a Duke lean was probably not a good sign.

Generally Cal will make one last-ditch visit even with players who are reported to be heavy leans. Even went out to see Harry Giles.

Haven't heard any UK movement with Barrett in a long while. Unless something happens this week that suggests he's probably Duke's.

I see just a very, very few folks on Rivals talking about it. (I'm not a subscriber any longer so I can't see the House of Blue.)

TJ Walker on House of Blues saying that there are whispers that the parents have been swayed and that things sound better for Kentucky on the Barrett front. On top of that, Coach, who posts on the free board, and is plugged into the recruiting scene (I believe he, himself, is a coach) and came through yesterday saying that he's starting to hear things swirling around that are positive on the Barrett-to-UK front and that nobody from Duke has any idea on what he's gonna do. The mods apparently erased Coach's post (actually, I think they moved it to the pay board).

Also make sense as to why Keldon Johnson is pushing back his announcement.

The only thing I would say is that there are always these rumors right before the commitment that the player is going somewhere else. That's happened in UK's favor and against UK over the years. Always you'll see "The other staff has no idea" 48-72 hours or more before, and then you'll get an article after they commit saying that there was never any doubt and the player knew for months.

Of course there are many exceptions to this. Kevin Knox comes immediately to mind.

Man would be GREAT to land Barrett, but Im not getting my hopes up. Really hope we can land Zion...Could you imagine an Immanual/RJ/Zion combination. PLUS what we could have returning. Unreal.

He undoubtedly will wherever he goes.

However, as a 6'5" 275 guy myself, I hope he doesnt lose an ounce. He could be the champion for big dudes everywhere! lol

But there was an important caveat with the article that reported his weight gain...he apparently didnt lose a step.

Hes said in interviews that he never lifts, either. Hes just naturally gifted. Once our program can sculpt him for a few months, he will be a phenom.

Really want Barrett, but Zion is unreal to watch. Never seen body control like that. His dribbling and passing are supremely under-rated too. Cant remember a recruit Ive wanted to suit up for BBN more than this kid.

Does Zion impress you all more at this stage than Julius Randle? I am still fatigued from following the Randle recruitment that I don't watch as much as I used to. I've seen some highlight videos but that's all. Keep in mind that Randle is BIG compared to Zion.
