His skillset is made for the 3 position. But, I will say, he can bang down low, obviously. He is absolutely unguardable on the wing tho.
He is the most insane freak of nature I think I've ever seen at his age. Rules that apply to things like height and weight with other players really don't apply to Zion. Really, he can play anywhere on the court and cause a mismatch. Since Cal likes to have his 4's on the wing or in the corner baseline anyway, he will play in that spot some I'm sure. I have heard that 275 pounds is being nice to Zion and that he may be 10-15 pounds heavier than that.
He will have to lose at least 20-25 pounds when he gets to college. No chance he can out-athlete the top college players next year playing at 275+Comment

Had a bizarre dream last night. UK was killing it in recruiting, but you landed players through a lottery. Like David Stern or somebody would come out and call the players Kentucky was getting. Some of them were current NBA players. We were getting Karl Towns back, for instance. I just kept high-fiving my brothers-in-law after every name was called. Then they got to the #1 pick and it was somebody I'd never heard of. But everybody knew he was going to be awesome, whoever he was. I couldn't stop laughing.
Woke up with a feeling like I'd scaled Everest.

The "recruiting expert" from another site has said UK for Barrett from day one. And he is not budging from that. 100% sure that's going to be his choice. Can only hope he is right.Comment

I don't see him around anymore. Last time I saw him in conversations was probably three or four years ago.
He disappeared to Mexico at one point. I heard he was a stand-up comedian and then, later, maybe a wedding planner or something like that.
Probably had the most acerbic posting style of anybody I've ever seen on message boards. He came around here a few times and was awful. Attacked virtually everybody.
His in with UK (at least from what I heard) was Jeremy Cox, who was an assistant under Gillespie. Cox was notoriously loose-lipped about stuff.
Much more difficult these days to see a message board insider, simply because the players we're dealing with are on a whole other level, and because Cal and the staff aren't really known to drop information.Comment

Marc Maggard was the absolute worst, and somehow he managed to create a cult following. Those people on his old message board would follow him off of a cliff, and in the end, sorta did.
As for Barrett, nobody... literally, nobody... knows for sure what he's going to do. I won't be surprised with any decision the kid makes, but if it ain't Kentucky let's hope it's Oregon. No Duke.Comment
