Lexington has its charm, but Austin it ain’t.

They also have a lot of money in Texas. If Smart is successful there they will keep him. I doubt we would ever see him in Kentucky.

Depends on what his career goals are. If his primary goal is making money and listening to music then yes UT can afford to keep him there. I doubt that UT could recruit Cal or Coach K away from their gigs though. Certainly more tradition and basketball interest in places other than UT and not all coaches try to avoid pressure.

If I had to bet I'd say O'Neal contacted Kentucky as a fall-back in case Arizona gets hit and he de-commits. There are still rumors out there that this may come back on Sean Miller.

A storied sports history counts a whole lot, irrespective of its origin...... Tuscaloosa's no garden spot, but there aren't many football coaches who would turn down that gig. Same with Lexington.

It sounds like O'Neal and Bol were teammates in the summer and are good friends. Was recruiting Bol for Arizona but now is about to decommit soon. Rumors now that he will be at Madness with Bol and UK stands a good chance of landing both.

Where do we stand with Williamson? I haven't heard anything about him since he had to reschedule his visit. Last I heard, though, was that it's down to us and Clemson. Is that still true?

If so, as of the last few days it sounds like we're in good shape with the following: Bol, O'Neal, Grimes, and Williamson. Any news to dispute that?

With Quickley, that'd be a darn good class.

Grimes makes the least sense of all, to me. But whatever. They say he's among the most NBA-ready of the class. I'll take that every day.

Put him and Quickley in the mix with a returning SGA and Green, and you have the potential for a STRONG back court.
