Here's my opinion on the Bowie vs Davis debate. Davis is said to be a once in a lifetime recruit, but IMO, Bowie was also. He was an exceptional athlete who could do it all. He was a strong rebounder, but playing with Turpin and Sky Walker, he didn't have to be. He could shoot from anywhere, and at that time, he was an exceptional ball handler. We all know what Davis could do, I just wanted to give a glimpse into Bowie's talent. Unfortunately both had injury issues with Bowie having them while at UK, and in the NBA. I would love to see them go head to head, I think it would be a wash.

Lighthouse, correct me if i am wrong. Good friend of mine who's a living UK basketball history book told me a story of Sam Bowie playing in high school allstar game in Louisville prior to coming to Kentucky. What he said stood out to him the most was the fact that Bowie was almost Magic Johnson like bringing the ball up the floor coast to coast with his size and length. Again, there is a reason why Bowie was taken over Jordan and it's hard to argue the career of Bowie over Jordan but Bowie was a freak and could do it all....

I like Davis and he if gets healthy he can be great. Still, Bowie was a once in a lifetime talent in his own right...

Davis has already been great even with the injuries.

Some of the numbers he's put up cumulatively have never been seen before at his age in the history of the league.

Could be a LeBron type if he stayed healthy. But he's already achieved greatness.

I agree but this year is big for him, he needs to prove he can stay healthy a full season. He would still be the number one pick if you had one player to start a franchise but i am afraid that he's going to rot in New Orleans if they do not surround him with some help.

I was torn between three players here. Meeks, Prince, and Lamb. I MIGHT be able to grab Lamb in the next round but I won't risk it. Doron Lamb is my third pick. I now have:

                  Wayne Turner at PG
                  Lamb at SG
                  Mashburn at SF

I was at that game and Bowie was a Beast who did it all. And, a few years ago he made a speech at Campbellsville College. He mentioned his short stay in the NBA, and gave major credit to his agent. He said, even though he was a youngster with little financial knowledge, his strong agent guided him to the financial freedom he has today. A great player and a fine young man. And Davis is also.

My third pick was a two time All-America and when he graduated after the 1975 he was the 2nd leading scorer in UK history. He is Kevin Grevey. Great outside shooter who wasn't afraid to take it inside either. Very tenacious player who was a fan favorite at the time.

Downes is now on the clock.

Good pick with Turner.May not have the flash of Tyler Ulis but name another UK point guard more accomplished than Wayne Turner? All Wayne Turner did was win for 4 years...

Excellent pick! I was sure I could get him this round... Back to the drawing board.
