Washington State's Jaylen Wells is the newest possibility. Very good shooter. Testing the waters in the drat but will likely end up back in college.

I actually believe Pope is looking for the right players ,the right fit, not just whoever he can get who will say yes.
Louisville ,Arkansas ,Michigan other teams are getting commitments while it seems as if Pope is laying a egg, I think he wants those who really want to be here..

Flip side of all this, maybe they don't want to play for him lol, that ain't good..

Agreed. He's targeting players for his system and he'll fall back to "role players" and "solid contributors" and cobble a team together if he doesn't get number/type of players he prefers.

That's what I am thinking..

Also, I don't think the roster will be full until June or July when portal players pretty much are forced to make a decision, it's going to be a long waiting game

The roster itself won't be cleared up until then, but the major decisions better be. Because of the 8-12 players he seems to really be coveting, all those guys are currently taking visits to other schools. (The Oklahoma player from yesterday may be an exception.)

So if you're going to fill out the absolute most important part of your roster, which are the 5-7 SEC-caliber players you need to have to compete, then you've gotta do it quickly. Because everybody's out there trying to fill out their rosters.

Kentucky fans, not unreasonably, are going to semi-panic (or full-on freak out) until there’s a functional roster on board. Totally get it.

I would just say from everything I hear, there are very good options in play — including names that aren’t yet public.

It looks like Tucker and Jones are being fed info by someone on the UK staff. Much more information floating out there than we were ever getting from Cal.

But that information is never complete. Players' names are often redacted. Which suggests the staff doesn't want it known who they're targeting, i.e. trying to get in to players before other schools can make their NIL pitches.

It's interesting how different it all is from what Cal was doing during the off-season.

Agreed rather now than later but some players will leverage themselves to get every penny they can get, not sure I want those players anyways to be honest unless it's a sure fire can't miss.

Some of these teams will get bad contracts and investments , no different than any other pro sport..

Wild times for sure, it's totally out of control in my opinion..

I think Reeves was a victim of the credit issue Matt Jones mentioned earlier on Twitter. It was very clear he wanted out and coming back to UK wasn't really in the cards for him.

Jones intimated a couple hours ago that that sort of thing is happening all over the place as these "seniors" who've played at three and four schools are trying to get their credits to transfer.
