With all that being, if you really don't want to be here and not committed, don't let the door hit ya in the....
if Thiero comes back i think it rules out Osobar, I choose Osobar...
As time goes on , I am warming uo to the idea that any Calipari leftover who's been brainwashed with that NBA ASAP mentality needs to move, start fresh with a clean slate on and off the court..Last edited by KentuckyWild2020; 04-24-2024, 09:30 PM.Comment

Looks like Cal might pull Johnell Davis to Arkansas. Would be a bummer.
Would be good to see Pope and his staff come into one of these head-to-head recruiting battles and win one, just to show they have the chops to do it. They're up against a heck of a wall though given the circumstances and how desperate we are for players.Comment

I feel like if Pope could just crack the door open it might start an avalanche for Kentucky. Would love to see him land one of these super-coveted players just to show he can play in the same sandbox as some of the more "proven" coaches like Cal and Hurley.Comment

Calipari was very fortunate to have a Carmelo type freshman AD carry him to a Championship. He blew it with Rose at Memphis just the way he did in 15 with Towns and Booker..
.Hall of fame coach who racked up wins in a nobody conference against nobody teams at Memphis and Umass...Last edited by KentuckyWild2020; 04-25-2024, 08:41 AM.Comment

At Memphis yes he landed a top prospects but at Kentucky it exploded.
It's a lot different when you visit a place like Kentucky and see all the banners and accolades, the enthusiasm from the fans, that stuff still sells itself plus we can provide and pay just as much as anyone else out there.Comment

Actually outside of this past season, Cal hadn't been recruiting nearly as well as he was back in the day. He'd missed on several players. That tends to happen when these coaches get older, less involved, less motivated on the recruiting trail, etc.
He got most of his coveted targets last year though. So maybe he carries that into Arkansas. But I wouldn't be surprised if we see him missing on a bunch of players like what was happening here. Partly because of his age, partly because it's Arkansas and not Kentucky, but mostly because the landscape is so diffuse now and there are so many players in the game. Now you might see two of the top rated recruits go to, say, Rutgers. That flattening out of the college basketball world hurt Cal bad and he never cared to really adjust.Comment
