Z meets with Pope (not sure I really believe that) and commits to Arkansas

I’m told it’s expected DJ will also commit to Arkansas this week with the expectation he goes through NBA draft workouts.

It was kind of a longshot that Pope was going to get a guy who, just three months ago, was saying he was crying with the former coach in his office. Really tough pull for Pope.

Big Z has a bright future if he'll work. Unreal skillset unlike almost anything I've ever seen here. Not sure about his work ethic or his focus.

And at this point for Kentucky, it becomes about numbers rather than particular caliber of players.

We might just have one player total at the moment if you assume Perry is a lock. That's two weeks to grab 10-12 players. We probably have 3 to 5 in the chamber from BYU or from the Utah pipeline...maybe. He's got a lot of convincing to do in a short time.

It's interesting that the players are kinda doing the one-day-at-a-time thing the way they've done it since Cal got here. Suggests their agents are wanting them to have their own day and there's some coordination involved.

Would suspect DJ Wagner tomorrow, probably. Ugo the next day. Then, sadly, Reed.

Still not sure about Jordan Burks. He might see a role for himself here, possibly. I'd like to keep him...and even back in January he (and maybe Thiero and Big Z) was one of the only ones I thought might actually stay.

I don’t understand. If Cal stayed at UK these guys would have gone to the portal or the draft. But at Arkansas they play for him again? Reminds me of Memphis where Cal had 7 upperclassmen on his last team. For some reason things had to be done differently while here. Still, glad he’s gone.

Not a good day at all, I actually believed Big Z might stay.

                Onyenso hiring a agent, done.

                Bradshaw gone..

Big Z is in for a rude awakening with another year of Cal in my opinion..

Oh well, if they don't want to be here adios..

I suspect it's about money to support his family ASAP...

I respect it but he has a whole lot of stripes against him..

Not going to lie , agitated over Big Z leaving.

One things for sure, i will be rooting for Calipari to lose every game he ever coaches from here on out.

As for Reed,if Pope can't get a decent roster together Reed needs to go pro, no since coming back risking injury to play with a bad team...

Which decision is worse: his or Montgomery’s?

Probably Ugo's, honestly. Montgomery at least had a little range and fit the mold of the modern-day NBA player.

Ugo sadly has much more upside as a college player because of the way he can change games...but he was almost unbelievably inconsistent.
