"Entering the transfer portal" is another expression of "testing the waters" for many players today. Some guys will be simply "taking bids" without a definite desire to transfer their school.

I have no clue what Adou wants to do, but I'd love to have him back.

Definitely want him back. Was talking to someone last night close to the program, and he specifically mentioned the physicality that the team would miss if he leaves.

(I'm tryna be cool here, y'all. Yes, I have a man on the inside, or rather, "will have" a man on the inside. So that essentially means that I'm gonna be a Wildcat next season. In a way.)

They offered me an ice cream cone, which I hear is pretty good. Committed on the spot.

Oddly Thiero put out a statement this morning that made it look like he...didn't enter the transfer portal? Says he's going to test the waters and then explore all options, including a return to Kentucky.

Does that mean "let the bidding begin"? Is he opening up the floor for the best offer?

I like to refer to it as testing the free agency market

It’s almost like playing for a particular team / university isn’t top of the priority list.

                      almost.

I mentioned this before and some didn’t agree, but I referred to players as mercenaries. Go work for the highest bidder.

Don't count Reed Sheppard. Recently how many players have come here to play because it's Kentucky?

You are correct. In today’s college game it is how much NIL money can I get. Can’t really blame them.

I was in London yesterday and talked to two old men who know Reed very well. Both where quick to assume if he's top 5 he goes pro and my argument was why go sit on the bench and watch grown men play wasting away his youth?

My question was simple, does Reed love Kentucky basketball enough to come back? The answer was yes but we shall see..

                                $20M 3-yr contract for #5 pick.

No one who dreams of the NBA is going to turn that down.
