They definitely have (yet another) player who could go off in Tramon Mark. Guy's a stud.

The problem with Arkansas seems to be that they just quit. They get down...and then they totally let go of the rope and all of a sudden they're down 20. The behavior of a team with chemistry issues, if I had to bet.

Crazy stat: after Arizona's loss last night to Oregon St., the AP top 10 is 17-27 this season on the road against unranked opponents.

I can accept a loss. It is the way we play in the losses that I focus on.

I think what's happened with COVID and immediate transfer rules, there's a much smaller divide between the haves and the have-nots. It's always been that way in college basketball but some of the rules have sped up parity even more.

Particularly on the road, where things are usually fairly even anyway, you're seeing pretty wild outcomes because a lot of these teams have 23- and 24-year-olds.

The transfer portal and NIL have certainly narrowed the gap. It doesn't make losing any easier, but it's not like we're the only good team losing games we shouldn't.

With that said, if we were to lose at Arkansas tomorrow, it would be fair to start using the "B" word, as in "bubble." We wouldn't be on the bubble (yet), but our SOS and KenPom already sucks with few good wins. And we've got a couple stinker Ls.

Just something to think about. This game is a must win.

                ????? We're #20 in the KenPom.

Not sure I follow what you're saying here. This team on the bubble? Maybe if we lose four in a row or something.

I thought our KenPom was much worse.

With that said, Matt Jones just had a segment where he was talking about the bubble if worse came to worse. So I don't feel AS crazy.

Well if the worst-case scenario happened, sure, we'd be screwed.

But you can say that about every team.

It's wild that the team that played that first half against Georgia less than a week ago is now being mentioned in the same breath as the bubble. I definitely agree that Arkansas is a must-win.

Our softness and terrible defense makes most every game a "must win." I expect Arkansas will play us very physical and try to play down hill,

I think Matt's point was that we have four losses, one good win, a couple of bad losses, and the real meat of our conference schedule is still ahead of us.

Lose tomorrow and we've already got 5 losses with road games at Auburn and Tennessee left. Not to mention a couple of difficult home games. And there's aren't a whole lot of great wins left to be had.

A nine or ten loss team with our resume wouldn't be terribly appealing. Which is why tomorrow is a must-win. We simply can't lose it.

Yes there are. Alabama is out there. Tennessee's out there twice. Auburn is out there. Gonzaga would be a Q1.

Right now, everybody outside Purdue of UCONN is in a pretty similar boat in terms of Quad 1 wins.

Matt's drunk and/or falling into recency bias.

Hopefully. They were NET 30 just a couple weeks ago. Then went to 28. Now 27. Throw in a loss IF we beat them they may drop a little. Plus it could be Quad 1 when we play them but then not be Quad 1 by selection Sunday. It’s iffy.

By the same token, it looks like Mississippi St. will be a Quad 1 win as it stands now.

We're not gonna get all those games obviously...but I think Kentucky probably has to go 4-2 in those 6 big games and then probably get one more solid win in the SEC Tournament to be in the running for a 2/3 seed.

Our road is much tougher after Tuesday night, but my point in all this is: there are several big wins for us remaining.

Huge week for Kentucky's seed coming up.

Florida is just out of Quad 1 range but a win against Tennessee would see Kentucky move up probably 8 or 10 spots (assuming we run the table this week).

                                Really important games looming here.
