While I think it's more likely than not he picks UK, Duke is absolutely a serious player in this. He is apparently very close with some of the Duke commits/recruits and has had a strong relationship for years with Scheyer.

The timing is interesting, with Cal just visiting Bona, and the fact that Lively was supposed to be a longer term recruitment. Either UK or Duke swayed him to go ahead and commit. From everything I hear, it's UK. There has been some talk of Bona and Lively not wanting to both go to UK, but I wouldn't rule it out yet.

From what I have heard Bona would be fine playing with Lively, Lively apparently is not big on the idea though.

In a vacuum, without Downes' and lilpro's info here, I would say that Adem Bona visit news doesn't sound good for UK's chances with Lively.

But I will admit this is a new Kentucky and we seem to be playing by the same rules we were playing with a few years back, so I'm just going to say it all sounds good.

Supposedly the visit was rescheduled, and others seem to think it may have actually happened. I’m not sure what the truth is at this point.

Two ways of looking at it: the visit happened, they locked up Bona, told Lively, then he announced his date the next day since he’s down to one school. Or, they visited to make one more pitch to Bona to play with Lively, since they locked up the latter. I really don’t know.

Or, they didn’t visit because Lively’s coming.

It's not a coincidence that Lively bumped up the date. Kentucky is getting a number of Futurecast picks from Rivals now.

If it was cancelled that makes a little more sense.

But--again, just in a vacuum--it looks like UK missed on Lively so they scheduled that visit because they need to secure the second choice.

Not saying that's what happened. With the way UK is going right now it would kind of be a shock if we didn't get who we were after. But just saying that's what it looks like in isolation. Over the last three or four years whenever you heard of visits being set up with players you could be pretty assured that UK wasn't getting the guy they were after at that position.

Regardless, you’re right about the picks. A few have been made for UK since Lively made the announcement.

Yep, the timing is intriguing and not knowing exactly if the visit happened or not. But the picks are usually a tell tale sign.
