You have to give Cal credit for something on this: Penny sells guys on being exactly what they want to be, while Cal sells them on being what they need to be. Penny’s been feeding Livingston a bunch of two-guard stuff, while Cal’s telling him he’s a small-ball four at the next level. The latter is the truth, and now look where we are.

Emoni Bates likes the idea of playing point, so Penny’s letting him, regardless of how he projects as a pro. Duren wants to rock the rim, so Penny sold him on being Shaq to Bates’ Penny. (FedEx money helped, of course.)

^^^^Livingston-small-ball four is what he plays for the most part on his HS team; he did play 2/3 AAU ball team

Like I said, y’all, temper expectations. Livingston may still visit Memphis after all. Not sure yet.

Until they commit and sign, it’s not fine.

I said to temper things this morning, then a Memphis insider posted a crystal ball pick for Livingston to UK at 10:51AM, with a confidence level of 9/10.

And another CB from Chris Fisher. That’s a big one.

Wow. I never really considered Livingston to be a real possibility. That's crazy.

Same here. This happened fast, and when these things take a hard turn, something interesting has happened behind the scenes. I’d love to know what it was.

I wonder if Cal is also recruiting Livingston's brother and Oak Hill teammate, Cordell (point guard)?

He’s nowhere near the player Chris is, and it doesn’t sound like his commitment is contingent upon a school agreeing to take his brother.

Today’s the day, folks. Either Kentucky lands the #1 player in the country, or Sharpe pulls the biggest fast one the sport has seen in I couldn’t tell you when.

                        My money’s on the former.

Kind of snuck up on me.

Important day for Kentucky basketball to put it lightly. It will be the first time in literally years when it's felt like we might be getting the ol' mojo back--if Sharpe indeed chooses Kentucky.

Yet another high-confidence CB pick for Livingston to UK, as well.

Cal meeting with the media today.

Says in his opening statement that he "doesn't have a rearview mirror" and that he's "jacked about where recruiting is going."

                              Hmmm.
