I mean, BP wouldn't be the only one. I'm still almost certain UK is bringing in 2-3 more guards.Comment

Maybe, but including BP doesn’t add up. If Mintz stays, you’re getting a PG and likely one of Fredrick or Miller. If Mintz leaves, maybe you get all three, but even if one of them doesn’t come to UK, there are plenty of superior options to BP.Comment

Right now the most likely scenario is Mintz leaves, Fredrick (almost certain), Miller, and a PG come. BP could be included if Miller isn't.
Also, Disu is transferring from Vandy. Would be a nice replacement for Brooks ðŸ˜....Comment

We’ll see. He and Joel are tight, but if Justus leaves I don’t think it’s a guarantee that we’ll lose Skyy.
But I’ll say this in the event that he does decommit:
1. I’ve never been convinced that he’ll make it to campus in the first place.
2. Jaden Bradley is an excellent option in that same class. I like him more than Skyy. Get him, and keep Hickman (and maybe even TyTy) and losing Skyy doesn’t really hurt that much.Last edited by George; 04-21-2021, 09:04 PM.👍 1Comment

Losing Skyy Clark would be a program crusher. Can’t happen. It would be on the level of losing a Wiseman. You can’t keep losing players like that and just assume we’ll get the next one. Doesn’t work that way.
That said, I remain completely unconvinced that he’d de-commit because of Joel Justus. The idea is dumb on its face.Comment

It absolutely would not be on the level of losing Wiseman — especially not when Bradley, who’s ranked ahead of Clark, is a strong Kentucky lean. Wiseman was a much more important player for us at the time, and the context carried a heck of a lot more weight than what we’re potentially dealing with here. This isn’t a head-to-head recruiting loss against another coach.Losing Skyy Clark would be a program crusher. Can’t happen. It would be on the level of losing a Wiseman. Losing Skyy would suck, but it wouldn’t shut down the program.
I agree, though, that it’s unlikely he’d look elsewhere just because of an assistant coach. Much more likely he’ll consider a pro route, if anything.👍 1Comment

Can't lose Clark. Superstar.
Jaden Bradley might be one too, but you can't just lose players like we have been and assume we'll get the next guy. Kentucky has done way too much of that and it's a maor reason why we are where we are. Because we haven't been getting that next guy.
When you go in on players of that caliber it's often a two- or three-year ordeal to get them. Losing guys and then deciding at the last minute you'll just grab this other blue chipper has not worked for Kentucky, and I doubt it would work in this case. Clark has been our guy for so long that I just can't fathom a situation where we lose him and then regain our footing that quickly.
Now if Clark is never going to play in college that's one thing, but if you're going to get burned like that then you get burned. Nothing you can do with that. But you can't lose players simply because assistants leave. Kentucky is in a perilous situation right now and when we have a star in the bag, we have to get him to campus.Comment
