May very well be some truth to what he and his father have said, but I just find it very hard to believe that some NBA teams won’t fall in love with his measurables and promise him a solid spot (maybe lottery) in the first round.

I have no idea if he was being truthful, but I'm skeptical because we've heard that before with UK players. Seems like Kevin Knox was rumored to have said that. Immanuel Quickley was also brought up as a potential returner if he wasn't drafted high enough. There are a few others.

You never know what's going on behind the scenes but it does seem like the Lottery vs. First Round demarcation isn't as important as it once was. Probably because teams are giving these guys guaranteed contracts now all over the place. It's not uncommon to see a guy be drafted deep in the second round and still get a guarantee. It's got to be hard for a family to hear a pitch like that and turn it down only because of slight differences in the salary scale for non-lottery picks.

I would say if UK brings in another guard Mintz is gone.

Interesting. I would hope they can keep Mintz if that guard is Fredrick. Mintz is a better player and I'd rather have him.

He looks like a better player than the Illinois player as well, but if that player is tied to Orlando Antigua in some ways then you'd love to have him.

Also UK might come out better with a tandem of the Illinois kid and Fredrick. But as I've always said, depth doesn't do a ton for you in college basketball so my thing is always "Get six good players." Get six good players and things generally work out well.

I want Mintz to stay badly. But with everything that's about to happen with the staff and players being added (UK may add three more guards, almost assuredly two), Mintz just won't be back IMO.

I don't disagree, just don't see how his potential doesn't get him drafted.

Would sure like someone to actually say that and stick to it if it doesn't happen because I think after another year he would be a no doubt lottery pick if he progresses like we all think he can.

I think we’re agreeing with one another. Read my post again.

If he came back and continued to develop, I think he’d have legit top-five pick potential.

TyTy Washington has moved up to 13th in Giovany's 2022 draftboard and has skyrocketed up the ESPN rankings.

Might be a case of a kid just blowing up in his class super late. I seem to remember Eric Bledsoe was that way.

Always a good sign, means they are progressing and are hungry to get better.

Lot of Twitter "experts" saying Washington is likely to stay home and go to Arizona. He was apparently not close to Miller but has some sort of connection to Tommy Lloyd.

It’s happening, y’all. Coach O is coming home, and it sounds like Chin is coming with him.

One thing to keep an eye on as a result of all this: if (when) Justus is gone, it’s possible that Skyy Clark could reconsider his commitment.

Hard to imagine he’s coming to Kentucky just for an assistant coach, but Joel was/is his guy.

I'll sure be glad when this all shakes out and we know who our Coaches are and who is on our team.

This is the best news I’ve heard all week.

Chin has a close connection with Brandin Podziemski out of Wisconsin. His camp has been extremely quiet for a while, so Chin could bring him in. Just another shooter/scorer option.
