We are inundated with media coverage. To be honest this is the way future outbreaks could well play, whether another flu mutation our vaccines work on, or some other disorder. With the anti vaxxer insanity, a few hundred cases of measles earlier this year could have caused panic.
people are afraid for family, friends, selves. It doesn't go away, and continual outbreak numbers and projected death toll feeds it.

One last post just for some perspective. I don't recall this kind of panic and blaming during the 2009 swine flu which was more deadly and affected children.
In MY OPINION, shutting everything down and everyone going in hiding is just going to delay the spread and cause a much longer time for it to peak while destroying the economy and severely damaging lives. This is not a hoax but I feel it's an over reaction led mostly by the media and politics. I don't believe Trump was president at the time.
