The issues of "liberty" and that cavalier way Americans have of pushing through potentially dangerous things makes us inherently different than China. I'm not sure we can essentially shut down the way they have in Asia, simply because Americans don't really like being told what to do by people in authority.

Thus it will likely get a lot worse in America than it has in other countries.

The good news is that, as I'm sure we've all heard, many people who get this have very minor symptoms or no symptoms at all.

I'm not afraid of getting it; I've come to the conclusion that I probably will. I am, however, terrified that my 70 year old father with underlying heart and respiratory conditions will get it.

I think we'll figure out how to treat it between now and the time a vaccine is developed (if one is able to be developed, which is questionable), so you'd hope that eventually it really does become not much worse than a chest cold.

But the next few weeks are going to be anxiety inducing and we'll see how the cancellations go over time.

Just saw that. Maybe going to limit fans attending. Thanks

SEC says games are going on today as planned. Pretty wild they are still going to play.

FYI - in case you're still one of these "it's just a chest cold who cares?" people, here's a good explainer on why cancelling things is responsible policy.

I think that the NCAA will keep playing until we see a player or staff member infected. Then it will be over.

Put me in the group of people that are fine with games continuing, as planned, with limited attendance.

I imagine that it probably won't even be a player who ultimately tests positive, but somebody around one of the programs. Then they'll quarantine said team and the NCAA will shut things down.

With younger people the symptoms are often so slight that they may not even know something is wrong. I saw that Gobert was going to play in the game last night and felt fine, which begs a question about what prompted them to test him.

Most younger people merely get mild cold-like symptoms, so it's possible he just had a runny nose.

This isn't true. The US currently has 3 million test kits available and another 5 million will be ready in the next 3-4 days.
