No one is saying pack it up and call it a year. The only thing anyone has said is that with Blackshear we are arguably the favorite to win it all. Without him we are top 15 with a chance to make a run if Nick has an abnormally successful and developmental summer. I'm not saying Nick can't learn to stay out of could trouble, not fall for every head fake, learn how to catch better, and get past his mental barrier of letting mistakes snowball, I'm just saying Blackshear is quite a bit better and more productive than Nick at the college level according to what we have seen.

KSR states Blackshear arrived a little later last night than anticipated, but hopefully we'll hear something today.Comment

Well i have spoke my peace about this and how i feel about Blackshear and Richards moving foward but agree with all that adding Blackshear does help our team, hope he plays for us this year and hope Nick is ready to step up as well, it's a win win.👍 1Comment

I will say that over the years a lot of your posts seem designed to see how much crap you can stir up, lol.
That said, I actually think your points about Richards in this thread are sound. His happiness is definitely something to think about, mainly because he'll be the most experienced player on our team with our system.
But many UK fans are highly skeptical of Richards because I think they've seen what I see: a tentative, pretty unskilled player who gets down on himself very easily.
Nick Richards might be one of the best human beings who's come through this program if what people say about him is true. I don't think he is a standout basketball player and I have doubts that he will ever be. I do think he can be a very solid backup, but he'll have to buy into that role and accept it.
Looking at Blackshear's career to this point and his skill, I just don't think it's likely that he comes here and plays behind anyone.Comment

Here's the truth, i was doing a little research on Richards the other day and i knew that he had not been playing his whole life, i just didn't realize it was actually age 15
With that being said, i still believe in Nick, he has done some things in the past that makes me think he can still be solid but just not sure his mind and understanding will catch up, it may take this year and possbily a 4th year. Anyone knows who's ever played basketball is that at first the game is really fast like a blur, takes time for it to slow down...Last edited by J.Jennings; 06-19-2019, 03:44 PM.Comment

Looks like it may happen officially/publicly tomorrow. Thought they'd get it out as Cal left for draft, but apparently not.Comment
