Even if Louisville gets Mack, not sure he will save the world for them. I agree his record has been good at Xavier and i am not saying he's not a good coach but Sean Miller had a better winning percentage there than Mack. Sean Miller also left for a better school and a entire west coast to recruit from and still hasn't really done anything out of the ordinary or special. Mack could land better recruits at Louisville than Xavier but then again, he will always have to deal with Duke, Carolina, Clemson, and other schools in the ACC who also recruit big time players.

Bottomline, regardless of who Louisville hires, they will never dominate the ACC the way Kentucky has dominated the SEC....

Of course they won't because, most years, top to bottom the ACC is stronger than the SEC.

Gary Parrish from CBS says he hears Mack is not interested in the UL job.

$49 million may change his mind but as of now Parrish says he does not think he takes the job.

I find this much more believable than I find that it's a done deal.

Looks like Pitt is making a run at Arizona's Sean Miller.

Makes all kinds of sense obviously...but still a bold move on Pitt's part.

Also: it paves the way for Pitino to Arizona. I'm only half joking.

Miller to Pitt is not shocking. As long as Miller isn't lying about the payoff, that would be a huge get for Pitt. Especially after the Stallings disaster.

Miller releases statement saying he isn't a candidate for the Pitt job.

                    Pitino to Pitt.

Pitino would elbow Tubby Smith out of the way for the job at Highpoint University at this point.

Pitino to the NBA seems more likely

First of all, ha ha ha at Louisiville. I hope this is a long drawn out desperate failure that requires them to hire a nobody who will only compound the losing for them. This is what you get for rubbing Rick Pitino in our face for years and for laughing at us because we hired a Coach who beat Rick in Rupp in front of a anti Tubby Smith Rupp arena crowd way back when in the NCAA's......

Speaking of Rick Pitino, get out your rotten tomatoes, pitch forks, and darts, get ready to fire away at me for what i am about to say. I just read a article where Pitino says he would be cleared of everything if he was on "wiretap", i actually believe him. I don't think Rick is that stupid for one, ego yes, stupid no. Of course he likes women, even ones on the side, he's not the first man in the history of mankind to be like that, still it's between him and his wife. With the Adidas stuff and Jurich's connection including his family on payroll, i actually think Jurich was the hand rocking the cradle through all of this and it's possible that Rick knew about the strippers and hoes but maybe was told to keep his mouth shut???

I look at things like this, Rick is a Hall of Fame coach and why would he risk it all at the part of his career? He cleaned up a scandal at Kentucky and had no problems at all, i am pretty sure he can weigh and outweigh the pros and cons of cheating or not. On top of all that, Rick is actually a good enough coach that even without superior talent, he can actually get the most out of a player and win, he always did, even at Kentucky.....

And as history shows, Pitino out of the NBA was a year late. Rick didn't forget how to coach in Boston, they fired him and a year later they changed the rules in the NBA, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Those changes is whey the NBA is what it is today in regards to fewer post bigs and hybrids shooting threes and handling the ball more....

I do not want to see that happen, would hate to see him on the west coast recruiting. Of course us basketball traditionalist say "why would you play for Rick" with all that has gone on but the minds of the youth would actually think it's cool to play for a coach who likes to get around on the side with the ladies, they idolize that......

If true, then why didn't his trashy methods net more top-tier recruits? I can't remember who it was, but at least one recruit who was present for some of that said that he was turned off by it.
