The little turd Drew Deener is reporting the same thing about the meeting. Pretty awful move by UL. No wonder that team looked disinterested.

See, I'm just skeptical that they even met last night. U of L had a game last night at the Yum center - maybe Tyra is burning the midnight oil on that, but I'm skeptical that he's out finalizing deals before having a sitdown with Padgett at the end of the season.
Not throwing water on you J Jennings, just saying that the whole thing seems like a rumor that's gotten way out of hand. Maybe Mack will eventually become the coach this week or next week or something, but I have my doubts that everything's this far down the road already 12 hours after their season ends.Comment

I suppose my original comment had to do with Deener being a "prick". I thought homer broadcasters were supposed to be homers so... what did he do that was out of bounds? I get it, he supports Louisville and he does what he is supposed to do. Doesn't change the fact that he's a Louisville fan and i can't stand Louisville which means i could care less about him so to me, he's a prick and if i was allowed to cuss on here, i would substitute prick was for something else!!!!!Comment

Oh I agree with this, and I don't blame them. I'm just skeptical of the Mack being a done deal rumors. To be clear, I think it's possible there's some validity to it- he may be their choice and he may want the job. I'm skeptical, but it's possible. There's no way the Cincinnati media wouldn't be all over it if that were the case. I think the only way Padgett gets the job is if they strike out on the other candidates and they need someone to be the sacrificial lamb during the probation years.

I think Deener isn't a good representative of UL or any school simply because he only has his opinion and no one else matters. On his show, if someone calls in with a different opinion than his, he cuts them off and then out talks them until he just hangs up on them.John 3:3

Got it. I don't (and wouldn't) listen to a UL sports show so I don't know. He wasn't the main host of the show I listened to in Lexington so that wasn't really an option for him. I did kind of get the feeling that he wasn't in love with UK even then.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... Deener's son is named Cawood IIRC.
He's okay. I listen now and then, usually after UofL loses. I liked the Afternoon Underdogs quite a bit when they were on. Lachlan was (I know he's still on in Lexington) one of the better describers of the games, but he always wanted to tell you how much he didn't like Cal. (A ploy to get the phone lines going, probably.) I like Mike Rutherford quite a bit.
I don't listen to a whole lot of talk radio because I think you can get better takes on message boards, and because talk radio is chock full of commercials. It can be tedious to listen to particularly in drive time.Comment
