I like the hire, and selfishly I think he woulda been a solid choice for us if Cal had bolted. His teams, particularly the last two, have played pretty well. He's also a pretty good guy who has his players backs. I think Louisville fans will be happy if they bear with him while the program gets reamed. I think UK fans will ease up on the hatred a little bit, and the tension in the rivalry will ease up just a bit.

Courier-Journal story on Mack's hiring at UofL. Think Louisville got a good one. They went out and got one of the two or three hottest names in the game while still under a lot of NCAA heat and working with mostly an interim staff inside a fractured university. Not easy to do.

Believe Mack can return the UofL/UK rivalry to pretty good form.

If he's able to get Langford to Louisville then they might give him a lifetime contract.
