I would be happy to pay up because Mack is an excellent coach and would have them back in fairly short order.

When dUKe's got it going with their inside out game they are the best team in the Country. I thought they were the best early in the year. They came back multiple times from nearly 20 point holes and won. It takes a good team to do that.Isaiah 5:20Comment

I thought Padgett did a decent job coaching Louisville considering the circumstances of him getting the job & probably deserved a chance at the head coaches job!!! Before some one gets the wrong idea-- I am a true blue fan & not a UL fan any shape form or fashion!!!!!👍 1Comment

Just me....I believe the longer Xavier's run lasts the less likely Mack is to leave.
Xavier has turned into a school of pretty high notoriety.
Louisville has yet to name an official school president or official AD. So anyone taking this job doesn't really know who his boss will be.
Xavier finishing Final Four and leaving for a school in Louisvilles situation would be a mighty big gamble.
Shaka Smart tried this....he went from wow, can't miss to oh, yeah...that guy.Comment

i hope the young guy gets a nice strong gig. I could see him taking over at MTSU and being very successful.Comment

I would be very surprised if Louisville can land one of the hottest coaching names right now. Of course, if enough money were offered, any job would have to be considered. If I were on top and looking to cash in, the offer would have to be sweet, because there may be some lean years at UL in the near future. They could get the death penalty, because they haven't been judged on this latest fiasco.Comment

I said this to a UofL fan the other night and he got ripped. He started listing all the things UofL has to offer.
I came away unconvinced. I just don't see the draw for Chris Mack. This is walking into a complete disaster for at least three or four years.
But there could be other things at play that I don't know. Maybe Mack wants a change. Maybe he wants the challenge of a re-build. Who knows. But just looking at it on the surface I think he'd be crazy to take that job.
The guy I was talking to said that Calipari rebuilt Kentucky in a year, so Mack could do that at Louisville. I realize that's just a fan wanting to be hopeful, but that's a crazy point. Mack is a great coach, but this is going to be a pretty long slog.Comment
