I've seen us matched up against Wake Forest in several prognostications. That would seem about right.

Here are the conference tie-in for the American conference. Not in any order, bowl games will be placed based on best fit for the Conference and its membership.
Not sure if any of these are better than the Birmingham. There maybe some "out" to allow Houston to go to a better bowl but I didn't find anything. Don't doubt that a better bowl would want Houston, not sure they will have any choice.

I assume that would be in the Independence or another bowl with an ACC tie-in?

If Houston has a choice I would take the Bahamas Bowl. Especially if Western Michigan can get into that one. That would be a nice matchup match. Also a nice venue to go.

Houston would love to finish their season with an SEC team called Kentucky.

I'd love to play Wake Forest. Ending the season with a win would be nice.

At this point I don't really care about a "nicer" bowl. I just want to win and if that means we get the lowest of the low there is I'm fine with it. Ending the season on a win would not only help recruiting but it would help the morale of the entire program moving forward. That would also give the Debbie downer fans one less thing to moan and groan about. Ending the season at .500 in the conference with a bowl win after the first two games this year would be phenomenal and, IMO, come close to justifying the extension for Stoops.

Christ, I'd pay good money to hear Charles Nelson Riley do play-by-play.

Bonus, let's add Charlie Callas as a sideline reporter.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Richard Dawson would kiss all the cheerleaders. That much is for sure.

And Sargeant Shultz would eat all of Grandpappy Rick's tailgate food.

I saw on Twitter, this morning, that USA Today is projecting us to play Patrick Towles' Boston College Eagles in the Independence Bowl.

That would be a interesting matchup.

In addition to not being in a bowl game, I miss the weeks leading up to the announcement of the bowl match ups. It's interesting to speculate on where we'll be going and who'll we'll be paired up with.
