I went to high school with Billy and Rodger. Billy was a Sr., and Rodger was a Jr., when I was a Fr. Those were the golden years of Redhound fb. Corbin played schools from Lexington and Louisville, as well as schools like Dixie Heights, and won most of the time. As impressive as their athletic accomplishments were, and they were quite impressive, the Bird boys were equally impressive as human beings. You can't imagine, if you haven't experienced it personally, what it was like to be a star player at a football crazy school like CHS. With all that going for them, they were as humble, and down to earth, as can be. I wasn't on the team, I was just a face in the crowd, yet they treated me just like I was a teammate. They were always ultra classy.
