Moorhead is probably the “safest” hire because of his resume. But, he did NOT do well at MSU and Penn State was efficient but not terribly explosive, as I recall. And, how long would he stay? If he comes, we will be his 4th team in 5 years.

Brohm’s Uof L baggage is ENORMOUS, but if not for that, he would be my first choice by a wide, wide margin. He played under Petrino, coached under his brother, was a GREAT college QB and has NFL experience. Plus, with Brohm, we would absolutely lock up this state in terms of recruiting. But, that UofL baggage just may be too much to overlook.

KSR just announced Coen. Rather they say that Coen is CMS choice. I hope that means Coen said yes and is signed. Not simply that we made an offer.

If true, I had decided that Coen was my first choice and bought into the Sean McVay hype. Hope this works.

If true, it should be a boon to recruiting. What kid wouldn't want to play for a guy whose previous job was asst. with the Rams?

My thoughts exactly. I also caught a Rams game this year and thought, "wow this offense is really fun". Still, it is pretty likely that Bama will make our "rams offense" look like the one that played in the Super Bowl vs the Patriots.

Watching the Bengals should make you leery of previous Rams QB coaches...

Kidding, it sounds like this will be a good hire. let's get going. Hope Stoops lets him do his thing.

What UofL baggage would Brian Brohm have?

Seems that the die is cast. I haven't watched enough of the Rams. I watched a little of the 49'ers game and took note of more than a few bubble screens, short sideline out routes, and short slants over the middle. Most comments from other pros have been very positive on this young man. Add this to several comments here and it seems like a very promising hire.

If Coen's the man, I sure hope he has the reins to do what he wants with the offense.

He's definitely the man. It's official now.

                              On the oline coaching vacancy:

On the O-Line position and living up to Coach Schlarman's standard.... "Without a doubt. Extremely important to keep that momentum going." Stoops wants to keep that culture in place. He has a guy in mind right now at another school that is currently in transition.

Matt Jones is throwing out the name of Eric Wolford who is currently the off. line coach at So. Car. They are a school in transition, plus Wolford has ties to Youngstown St., so Matt may just be on to something.
