Other sites seem to think the job is Coen's if he wishes.
I am just as concerned over the special teams lack of position. From CMS comments, they DO have someone who 'talks' with them, but I kind of think we need that coordinator slot. A rising star is a pretty good thing for Kentucky, but one day I hope where we can be attractive to a top of the line active OC or DC that already has recruiting ties in areas. I think one of the issues that Coen may face is he is going to have to be OC, recruit, and as of this second be the quarterback coach as well.

If I remember, wasnt Dawson both the qb coach and OC? I really cant remember that well other than Towles was very unhappy when Dawson was let go.

Freddie Maggard claims that most programs don't have a dedicated special teams coach. I agree they need to be better.

I'd be open to Brohm but, of the three, I'd rather have Moorhead.

We could likely get him cheap...pay him a dollar a year and let Auburn fill the rest of his former contract.

They certainly do. My personal pecking order would be:

                      Coen
                      Brohm
                      Moorhead
                      Hamdan

I worry about how long Moorhead will stick around if successful because of his experience. I think Coen will bring some new energy and creativity and programs will be a little more hesitant to throw the keys to him as a young guy without tons of experience. We can pay the position well enough to compete for smaller programs so if he's successful we could have him for a number of years.

Would a Brohm ever come here?

I think Moorhead is suspect and I don't know anything about the others.

Why do you say Moorhead is suspect? Just asking. He did a good job as the HC at Miss St. I was surprised they fired him.

I wasn't impressed with the Midd St. run and thought he was really weird and out of touch in interviews. I also don't think much of the Big 10 as a league.

I'm not saying he is bad and maybe he is great. Penn St. offense was really great his last year there.

Moorhead is the most proven of all. He had a decent run as a head coach and his teams at PSU did well. I don't know much about Oregon this year. The talk was that he would go with his head coach to Auburn if they were offered, but some rumors have popped up that Auburn has reached out to Urban Meyer and Bob Stoops so who knows. Moorhead had stated that a big move back across the country after one year will weigh on his decision because it would be tough on him and his family, which is understandable. We aren't talking about moving 300 miles across the state line.

Regarding a Brohm, that's a legitimate question. I know his parents and they are about as unpleasant of UofL fans as you can find. They're clearly riding the coat tails of their boys being somewhat of local celebrities and everything they do or think has to do with Louisville. I honestly don't know if they could handle one of their boys coaching at UK. As sad as it seems I honestly think that could weigh on his decision if he were offered the job.
